I had just reinstalled Conquests and I could faintly remember there being a quicksave shortcut.

Am I imagining this or is there really a quicksave key?

Not exactly. You can do CTRL-S, and that will bring up the save menu. But there's no quicksave/quickload slot like in Quake.

Are you certain?
I seem to remember a little box apperaing on the screen saying 'Game Saved'
I also think I remember using alot on my first Monarch game.

I thought It had a combination of a few keys.

Are you 100% certain that there isnt any?
Its just really eating away at me.

I'm pretty sure.

I need to check something, hold on.

According to this .pdf file (in zip format) there is no quick save function.

I was pretty sure that there wasn't, but wanted to make sure.

BTW: That's the VC3 (vanilla) file. You can find the PTW and C3C files in this thread.

I just remembered It. It was Ctrl S.
Only one snag, It wasent in Civilization 3.
I was thinking of Medieval Total War.

Thanks for all your help guys, after you said you had never heard of one I thought for ages where I had saw it from.
Then I saw M:TW sitting on my bookshelf and it all came flooding back.

Thanks again for helping find where that save box imprinted on my mind came from.

-hit control-s, leave a finger on the s-key; have another ready on the enter-key
-hit s (i.e. name save game)
-hit enter
-hit enter (i.e. overwrite in case 's.sav' exists already)

IIRC, that's the quickest save I could get.
(I get more enthusiastic about ainwood's suggestion, though) .
