Is there a toggle for opening cinematics?

I've not seen one in the options, and I'm forced to watch at least sixty seconds of it each time before I can cancel.

If I'm not wrong, it serves as the loading screen as well so even if you turn it off you still have to wait until the game loads.

There's an addon that will change it to a blank black screen you can get through steam I think. It's hiding the game loading though, so you can't just skip straight to the game either way. It would be nice if it had the minimal civ4 style loading window instead.

They're going to add a toggle in the patch that will be released with the expansion.

It can be disabled (see here), but then you'll just get a blank screen (until the next patch, which will, like mentioned, add a normal loading screen).

I've wondered about the intro video and why sometimes it goes away quickly and sometimes it takes awhile.

I went directly into the config.ini file using Notepad and I disabled the opening video. I forgot exactly which toggle it is, but I get no black screen, nothing. It just goes directly to the legal disclaimer and then to the main menu. I'm pleased with it.

If you go into your mainmenu.lua using notepad you can disable the legal screen too
