I do not want to hear the tracks of auditory despair (Straya, US, Khmer, Pedro, Spain) but I still want to play against random AI. Is there a way to disable certain music?
Hungary and Scotland music is awesome, don't be dissin' them. Maori on the other hand... Actually I do like all their songs except one which I really dislike.
Khmer's music is great though, at least once it gets more elaborate in the Industrial Age. But the others... yeah... And add Kongo to that. It's a good thing Firaxis has learned by now not to use just a single short and basic melody for all of a civ's music. Sweden's music for example could have been horribly obnoxious if they hadn't been wise enough to mix together multiple songs.
Kongo's main theme is irritating (and the later version with that key change, ugh, so cheesy!) but on the other hand they also have one of the best ambient tracks (the one with the singing).
I pretty much love all the themes. Stuff like Waltzing Mathilda doesn't bother me at all, at least not any more than hearing Helan Går as a Swede.
If I have any problem with the music is that I find it gets a bit too elaborate, loud and excitable in the later eras. The arrangements are really nice, don't get me wrong. But I like my civ-music to feel a bit more quiet and subdued.
Though Scotland the Brave in the later eras is absolutely glorious, stirring and uplifting.
I generally dislike songs that involve a lot of shouting, but I find atomic Maori to be the most decent of that sort. Hearing all those old ladies sing in the background reminds me of the local church choir though

There is, but it's kind of tedious. For Australia and Khmer, the songs are in the DLC folders (like C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\DLC\Indonesia_Khmer\platforms\windows\audio) and for the rest in the base game folder. You'll need to edit either the music bank xml or the wem files, i.e. change the file IDs to refer to a different/empty wem file or replace the wems with different/empty wems. It's probably easier the xml way.
edit. Just tried this and the game doesn't seem to mind if the sound files are missing, so it's likely even easier to use the xmls to find the correct file Ids (e.g. open with notepad and ctrl + f america) and rename the corresponding wems to e.g. .old files.
