I am playing a large map and I don't want to start all over, but a city I captured has been asked to be given back to the rightful owner by the AP election. I voted defy resolution and now have 5 unhappiness in all my cities.

Is there any way to get rid of this penalty? What must I do? Would conquering the AP be enough? Should I raze the AP? What should I do? -5 is very bad :-( If I knew that I would have let the city go anyway, it was reduced to size 1 after I conquered it.

The thing I don't like about BTS is the lack of documatation about the new features.

It goes away on its own, but that will take a long time (30 turns iirc). It also goes away if you vote for a later resolution that passes.

I'm not sure if razing the AP will affect penalties you already have, but it's worth considering if you can't make it work for you.

ok it finally passed... :-) My great person farm was badly affected :-) now all fine... I was trying to get the +10% science bonus from all monasteries possible and had the AP religion in it... 30 turns i think yea, around 30 turns it goes away on marathon..

What is the point of defy resolution? Doesn't No or Abstain suffice?

If any nation defies a resolution, it automatically fails regardless how many votes are passed. If you vote no or abstain, you'll be forced to obey the result of the resolution if it still passes.
