Is there a way to skip to FfH2 from entering vanilla civ?

Alternatively, you can edit your Civilization4.ini in your my documents/my games/sid meier's civilization 4 folder and find the line that begins with "mod = ". Just make that line say "mod = Mods\FallFromHeaven2 016" (or whatever the directory is called)

you don't need the mod=Mods/FallFromHeaven2 016, just mod=FallFromHeaven2 016

Are you sure this works? I remember that the first version with SDK changes didn't work if you opened it this way.

It does, yeah. I used to do it that way, before the shortcut.

just note that the shortcut is only compatible if you installed the game with default options (eg. under Program Files).

I have to do that every time. Gets a wee bitty annoying at length. But then again, I would have had to do the same if I edited the .ini, and that takes even more time.

Yeah, I've always been using it with the ini start thingie, so I'm pretty sure it works ;)

I tend just to edit my old shortcut's path whenever a new version comes out :)

It's the same switch IIRC - a shortcut to wherever your normal Civ4 exe is, with -mod="Fall From Heaven 2 xxx" added, where xxx is the appropriate version number (currently 016 I believe, will be 020 for Fire's first release).

Just drag the shortcut to your desktop and leave it there once you've edited it. The nice Civ4 doric pillar icon might disappear, but the link should still work. It has for me.

Same for me, buit I normally at the symbol again.

You can manually change the destiny from the shortcut and use it even if you installed on another place ;D
My bold. Just noticed this - that must be one heck of a shortcut :)

Presumably you meant "destination" there. A shortcut which could change ones destiny would be mighty impressive :)

Ah, that explains it then :)

Actually, that's quite a poetic sentence you typed there.

Hum. Whatever, in portuguese we have only one word for both destiny and destination...

I feel a portugese space/action movie needs to be based on that line alone.

I could see it now... "Space Port" A story about a man who starts a vinyard in space, dedicated to discovering and cultivating the best Port in existance, in his search for secret ingrediants, he'll be met by strange forces, bizzare creatures, and buxom space vixens who will constantly try to "distract" him from his ultimate hortocultural opus.
