Is there any map editor for WinCiv?

I keep seeing all of the map editors are for the original CivDos.

I hate CivNet and its editor. Also CivNet does not give the option of continueing after the game is over.

Am I the only one that prefers the more pretty and windows friendly WinCiv?

Hello XDrake,

Can you do us a favor and post a screenshot of WinCiv, I'd love to see it. I think I used to have a copy of this version but have not been able to find it since I moved -- I suspect my room mate snagged it years ago. Also, a scan of the CD or Diskette cover/labels and the box if you have it. I want to use these scans on my website:

Civilization Partisans Hideout

Also, I was wondering if maps for CivNet work on this version. Let us know.

Thanks a million, even if this isn't possible.

Hey Guys?

What happened? Am I just impatient or is anyone reading this? I need pictures to post on my site about Civ I that are not already plastered everywhere else -- can anyone help me? I am looking for any original pics of WinCiv, screenshots, strategy or start guide, etc. -- I do not have this version to make the scans myself - please help.

Best to all,

Later today I'll make some screenshots for you. As for the topic, there is a remote WinCiv map editor out there which I have obtained two days ago. However, the program is highly unstable and after modifying the save file, the program crashes and is unable to re-load it. I also have the source and will be spending time over it and converting it as to no longer depend on needing the Microsoft .NET platform installed as well as trying to improve the GUI.

Special thanks Nova for all your help. That would be great for anything you could do for me on the screenshots.

Also, a mapeditor that works for this version will be greatly appreciated. You've obviously been sent by the gods of civ. Our prayers have finally been heard. I've always said a good map editor is a must-have.

Best of luck on your work,
