I know it is usually impossible but is it possible if I have SD cards? If so how can I do it?

There is always the way, but unless you know how to do it (be an experienced modder with some equipment moving files to your microSDXC and lot of fine tuning), its not worth the hustle probably. Go for PC if you are really into it.
Switch version seems to be the same as other console versions, just with lesser graphics. Fitting extra stuff on Switch UI might get tricky as mods usually add more rather than the other way around. Switch might not handle more complex stuff either, good chance of more crashing. I'm pretty sure someone has already tried perhaps, usually modders stuff their noses everything they can, or at least try to.

It's possible if you Google it, but beware - any custom firmware risks Nintendo shutting down your Nintendo account.
