Ok,

I had some Berserkers left over that I never upgraded because I wanted the amphibious attack. Once I discovered Marines I began to build an army of them for relentless assaults on coastlines. Because I had been putting off War for a while & could not wait anymore I stacked a Berserker in with 2 Marines to create my amphibious force.

Much to my dismay this army was unable to attack amphibiously, so my question then becomes WTH? Anybody else ever encounter this problem or maybe a similar one?

By "build and army" you mean load them into an Army unit in the game?

My recollection from reading these boards is that if you have a homogeneous Marine Army it should be able to attack amphibiously but if the army is not all-Marines then it loses that ability.

Intuitively you'd think that it should be OK to use a Berseker since that's also amphibious, but maybe you've found the hard way that you can't.
