If I cut trees down, do I lose production in Total Realism?

You lose production anywhere if you cut trees. Forest gives +1 production and we never changed that.

The best leader to play is the one that matches your playing style best.

So is cutting down trees really worth that little boost in production?

By itself? I don't think so. For putting improvements in their place? Certainly.

So If I want to build cottages its worth it? Is it great to build cities on top of tribal villages (friendly) and blue circles? Because a good amount of times I built cities on blue circles but my production was pathetic. So where should I build my cites to get great production, and do you have any other tips concerning that?
