Isabella is breaking my heart!

Trust no one

I think Cyrus is the most honourable of the lot. He won't attack you unless you have no army at all and go out of your way to annoy him. You couldn't wish for a better neighbour, because unlike Gandhi, he won't keep coming over to ask you to do his homework for him since he's too lazy to learn the Alphabet himself, or to offer to buy all your coal for 10 cents.

Of course, if you borrow Cyrus' lawn mower and then leave it out in the rain, if you bully his children, if you hold noisy religious wedding parties of another religion than his, if you stand in the corner doing business deals with that dope peddler Julius whom he dislikes, then, yes, he will probably lose patience with you and come over and take a swing at you. And he does have clout. Don't make him angry. You wouldn't like him when he is angry.

With Isabella there are six other people you gotta watch those are Hannibal he only wants whats best for his niece but is a tiny bit misguided, Washington he is a nice guy but is fairly protective of his daughter so don't dump her, Vicoria she is the older sister and will attack like a hungry wolf at the first smell of blood, Qin Shi Huang is a very mean uncle unless you can reason with him you are as good as dead, Louis XIV he is the oldest of them all and damn if he ain't built like a linebacker and the mind of a psycho, and last but not least Catherine she is the toughest mother you will ever meet in your whole life and she will kill anyone who gets on her daughters bad side.

How could you forget Monty? Living next door to him is like living next door to Jack the Ripper, Hannibal Lecter and Adolf Hitler rolled into one.

You should try and vassalise her. Maybe she won't be quite so promiscuous once you're married

You got to have some protection with these girls. My armies tend to be pitiful when I'm not on warmonger mode, but I do take care of my garrison forces at border and have some sort of counter stack.

Speaking of other leaders, Mansa is nice enough, but he's always getting more expensive and high tech stuff that makes me jealous. I'll beat him up if he's within reach just so I don't have to compete with him. If I'm not within easy reach I'll try to persuade someone else to beat him up, but most people like him because he borrows his stuff so much.

I like Isabella, she never attacks me.She has good manners i think. She knows, that she must be away of sight my Janissaries.

Just one time,i need that oil,and i attacked Japan.Japan was her Vassal. She declared war!
I warned her of course and said stay out of this. But she insulted me,then refused to talk. Then I was angry.I razed all japanese cities. Then i nuked Isabella for ten times. After razing any of her cities, she becames my vassal.

Isabella? I love her.She is absolute joy.

Can't stand the woman.

Whenever I meet Isabella, she ALWAYS founds religions. She's ALWAYS angry.

The woman's barmy!

Today I wake up, expecting Isabella to be there, but she was gone. She left a note that she would be coming back soon. The note said "My cutest little EOR, I had to leave early to run some errands, but I will see you soon again. With love - Izzy" and there was a blood red kiss mark on it.

She returned later that day, with catapults, knights and a declaration of war. I'm starting to believe she have lost her mind, or maybe I have lost mine? Either way, I've lost my will to live. All I can wish for now is to become Isabellas vassal, that way at least I can be with her, even if being her slave - which, in a way, I guess I already am - but it seems that she wants me off the map, for good.

I called Pacal and told him about my troubles but it was like talking to a wall. He wouldn't listen any of my pleads for help against Joao and Hannibal, he didn't even try to console me. It was like I wasn't there anymore. When I did demand any sort of a response he started to brag about was how great it was to punish Roosevelt to the point where he capitulated, and about how he now used him to run his business. I don't know my best friend either anymore. The end has come, I can feel it being only a few turns away. I guess I knew it all along, but now I've accepted it and I'm ready.

In afterlife I still hope I can be Noble, but maybe in a bit smaller world, a normal sized world where there will be less greedy and blood thirsty warlords. Perhaps I will meet Her once again, and perhaps our love can continues there, but without the madness. I hope.

EOR

The Women in this game respect one thing...power. The men in this game respect only one thing...ummm yeah, that's power too. You could be a backward 3rd world nation, but if you had 3 longbowmen for every one of their infantrymen, then you're golden.

There are two trust worthy women in this game: Elizabeth and Hatsepshut. All the rest can go to that burning place with no beer but it's like hot all the time!

I don't trust the men in this game at all, least of all Jaou, Monte, and Gilly.

Talk softly and cary a bigger stick mate!

For me, lately Isabella has taken to letting others found religions then joining the biggest one around. Which is convenient since I do the same and we can be buddy-pals.
Meanwhile she goes after techs that actually matter first and acquires a commanding lead rivaled only by me and Justinian.

I dunno. I find it very funny when I convince Boudicca that her boyfriend's been cheating on her and watch as she rolls out the ICBMs.

But then I'm something of a sadist

For some reason, every time I play her and I always are in a cold war for a long time before one of us attacks :p The last time she actually liked me was in Civ III.

However, I always find it so hard to declare war on her every time. I just don't know why. Beauty???

hmmz, that's an advantage i never realized i had! i never get distracted by the beauty of the female leaders. isabella's one of the leaders i'm most likely to go bloodthirsty on in fact, since usually her empire comes with a bonus shrine or two. i'd try not to if things had worked out between her and EOR, but since they didn't, i'll continue guilt-free.

i kind of have a crush on Gus tho. don't tell him!

very funny! :)

two things to keep in mind in order to be competitive:
1- never trust women
2- never trust women
;)

well i agree as far as very funny! EOR, welcome to CFC. +2 you made me giggle!

as far as kernok's two things ... you can trust me. :mischief:

Cyrus is awesome as a neighbor most of the time. Except if you have nobody to rush except him, then it kind of sucks because you lose your initial neighbor only to gain a bunch of other, surlier ones.
