Wow, the best conquest secnario, now thats some props, TY :D In an older version you could play as the pirated and scallawags but they are imbalanced and with a real brain behind them these civs are too powerful even if they can't build settlers. If you like this scenario but are itching to play as a pirate, Check out the scenario "Pirates, Yarr" In it you play as the pirates and you score VPs for capturing enemy ships.
You said, "i whant to play a civ., to pick from Ai city whit no war to make..." could you explain, I don't understand what you are asking or saying.

I have had some free time and I made an alternate 100 x 100 map that also includes a minor tweak and 3 new bonus resources. Just download the zip and extract the folder and game file into your conquests/scenarios folder and use the civ content area to access the alternate map. next post has a screenshot showing some of the bonus resources.

Looks good! I'll have to try that when I finish my current game. I played a little more last week and got into the middle ages. Even on Monarch its hard to keep up with the AI in techs, I'm usually in the "second tier" where I'm trading with Civs that are out of the loop of the most advanced ones, so its a good challenge. A different map will be nice.

I also like how the barbarians really explode with any remaining encampments at the start of the middle ages, makes approaching those as-yet-uncolonized islands a major undertaking!

Yah, I like that too... It's also a great way to build up a force of elite troops while expanding your empire. The new map is completely different from the old one and I think I layed off on the barbarians a little in this version.
BTW, how did your race to the great lighthouse turn out?

I got the lighthouse! It really helped since I wasn't seafaring. I'm just past the rapid expansion phase, and now I'm trying to get some oyster farms and brothels going in most of my cities before picking some fights. I think the Dutch are first on the chopping block... I'll be playing again on Thursday, I'll let you know what happens!

Well, Striq, I gotta say, I really like this mod. I played it again the other day and managed to get back in the tech loop by trading off monotheism, got some resources hooked up and built three shipbuilders housings (during a wonder-sparked golden age for military camp and Statue of Zeus). The way this is put together is really tight, its a pleasure to play. I'm going to try and build that brewery monastary thing next, those monks with a 12 defense would make a nice compliment to some samurais in a legendary army!

However, I'm going to be spending the next six weeks or so firmly in RL, so this is probably my last post for awhile. I'll let you know how the late medieval goes when it happens. As far as design and balancing, it seems fine so far. Good work! (Still too bad you took our the dreadnoughts though...!)

TY for the compliments! Gota love those legendary armies! :D

Kl map ive just donloaded the 'new edition' one and it looks great i like the barbarian placement very good map wd. :goodjob:

I was playing a little tonight and I noticed a flaw, but its not a big deal at all, the "radar towers" still have the shadow of a modern radar tower. I thought the unit descriptions were a little funny, like the early battalions with their short shelf life, haha. I got the Monastary! That's a really sweet wonder. Its almost as good as the crystal palace in Rise and Rule.

The radar tower shadows were left that way intentionally so you can easily differentiate between them and the guard towers, good eye though. I've never played rise and rule but I've heard good things. The Potala monestary is good even without the monk production and those monks are bad asses that hang around for a while. In earlier versions the monestary was an even more powerful wonder but in the interest of ballance I had to take it down a notch. About the descriptions... when I was editing the civlopedia file for 6 hours straight I got a little silly or short in my descriptions, can you blame me!?!

I hate to double post ;) but I have an announcement! evolution games had decited to host this scenario and It should be ready for download very soon! This means that you wont have to go to 3D downloads and wait in line to download the scenario, also I repackaged the file into .rar format and this made the overall size smaller by over 5mb! :D This will make download speeds much faster!!

Last night I found and error that causes the research lab building to giv your civ 2 free techs! This bug has been corrected and the fix is available on the 1st post. This bug doesn't cause crashing but it does make the industrial era quite fast. Other than that no big deal... its kindof weird, kind of cool, but definately fast and ... different. This problem is not in the alternate map edition available on post 26. :D
