Issue Installing BTS

Hi there. I recently bought the complete edition from D2D. I installed Vanilla and Warlords without a problem. I started the install wizard for BTS, and it runs up until a point when it says that a new version of Civ is available, and that it will download it (even though the Vanilla and Warlords have the latest patches, I checked). The wizard closes, and nothing happens.

Can anyone help me out here?

Are you using autorun run to install? If so that try goign direct to the bts install exe rather than throught the launcher. Not that it should make a differance realy. But who knows with digital installs

I have not tried installing a digital distribution of the game, but for Vista and W7 it is important to right click on the .exe and use run as administrator not just double clicking on the .exe or in the case of a disc using auto run. Make sure you are installing from an administrator account as well for XP, Vista or W7.

Yeah, I'm running Vista. Basically, the D2D let me extract all of the BTS files to a folder in my desktop. I tried running the .exe as an administrator, but it still crashed (or closed) when it said it was installing the newest version of Civ (after it searches for Direct X components).

Anything else I could try?

Are you using XP compatability mode as well as run as administrator? The D2D install instructions here suggest that you need to do both.

If you are following all their instructions you may need to ask D2D.

Thanks for that tip. I tried it, but unfortunately the wizard still crashed at the same spot. Anything else I could try?

Have you tried re-downloading the BTS files just in case it is a corrupted download?

I would contact D2D. Please let us know what answer you get if you do in case it may help others in your situation.
