It's been a long time, cant wait

I am on a business trip and extremely bored when I suddenly had the urge to play civ. The funny thing is that I didn't want to play CIV IV but CIV I. After two days of resisting the urge to put up money for games I have at home I broke down. I just got back from purchasing the Chronicles box set. My goal is to get some good civ I and II games in over the holiday weekend. I have yet to play a game but I'll let you all know how it went. Gotta love the game that started it all. Go caravans.

I'm glad that the civ1 community is growing.
Good luck with your first games and let us know how it went. How long ago did you play civ1 for the last time?

In response to the above post it has been a long time, Probably since civ II gold edition came out. I do not consider myself old, 27, but I am an old school gamer at heart. I remember playing civ and thinking this was the greatest game ever.

As a side note, I have noticed that the posters that complian about the game design flaws seem to be younger and have not grown with the series thru the many advances. I am not saying that their complaints are not justified in some cases but I do not think that they appreciate CIV the same way. I get the feeling that they feel Frixas owes them someting since they paid their money. I feel that I owe Sid much more for bringing CIV to life.

I remember playing insane amounts of hours on civ. Probably more than any other civ since. Sometimes it is fun to bring it back and enjoy what made the series what it is with the simplicity and FUN of the original game. my $.02.

I'll post how my first game went when completed.
