[0] 1860AD - Taking stock of the nation. Firstly, we sadly can't follow JOE's advice to rush Mt. Rushmore, because we've switched away from Universal Suffrage, and we aren't in slavery. So both money, and pop rushing are out of the question. Hence, as soon as we finish Mt. Rushmore, we shall switch back to Universal Suffrage, so we can rush more (
) buildings. To that end, so that the wonder gets finished as soon as possible, I move its construction away from St. Luis, where it would be complete in 9 turns, and to Athens, where it will be done in 6.
As I am turning all the city governors back on, I notice that we are producing the Hermitage in Chicago... Ummm, why?
The city is making zero GPPs per turn, and barely any culture. All the Hermitage does is give you more culture in that city and one more GPP. So... I don't think we need this wonder at all, given the militaristic goals we have, and even if we did, Chicago would be one of the last cities we'd put it in. IMHO.
So, Chicago is switched to an Airport instead.
Also, I MM some cities to emphasize commerce, and crank up the research rate to 100% so we can get radio in 1 turn.
I also make a note to myself to start building Airports everywhere. That will not only strengthen our economy further, but also will simplify the transportation of troops between islands some.
[1] 1862AD - We get Radio. Research starts on refrigiration, for the +1 naval unit move bonus. Other than that, I start building a lot of Airports, and there is also a whole lot of transport movement.
[2] 1864AD - Mansa wants to trade Divine Right for Repleacable Parts. Man, how many times do we have to tell you, people, we don't need no Divine Right. Well, I was going to wait till we get Rushmore to switch the civics again, but I want to get rushing things ASAP, we have so much money.
So, I revolt back to US this turn. I also declare on Louis, because why not.
The same turn, troops land at Lyons, and our ships bombard its defenses down to 9%.
[3] 1866AD - Lyons is taken with the four tanks only. Ah, you gotta love Blitz.
[4] 1868AD - Grenoble falls at no losses.
[5] 1870AD - The last Arabian city falls at no losses. This should boost the morale of our war-protestors significantly, now that we are fighting one war less.
Besancon, the French Aluminum city, falls at no losses.
At the loss of one Artillery (it had 90% chance of winning), Orleans falls.
Our ships reduce the defenses of Paris to zero.
[7] 1874AD - We get refrigeration. Work starts on Rocketry. Also, Mt. Rushmore is completed.
At no losses, Marseilles falls to our naval invasion. The city has Versailles built in it (which basically acts as a palace), so that's a nice acquisition.
[8] 1876AD - The defenses of Paris are down to 1 catapult, and then we sorta run out of firepower.
[9] 1878AD - Paris is taken.
[10] 1880AD - We get Rocketry. Research Starts on Mass Media. The Eiffel Tower is built in Paris, which will double the value of entertainment goods in all our cities, as soon as we get Mass Media. Rock 'n' Roll is built in Boston to improve our war weariness situation.
The city of Tours falls to our troops without any losses. I've taken half the French empire, and only lost one unit so far!
The city of Avignon falls to us as well. Can you guess how many units we have lost?
[11] 1882AD - The city of Rouen falls. No losses. Louis is down to three cities. I will try to finish him off in these turns. In the mean time, I think it is time to start preparing for a war on Bismarck. We don't want to let him get to those Panzers.
[12] 1884AD - We get Mass Media. Work starts on Plastics. At no losses, Chartres falls.
[14] 1888AD - The city of Dijon is razed.
[15] 1890AD - The last French city of Rheims is now only protected by a very wounded cavalry and catapult. It will fall next turn. I have also started airlifting some troops onto the main German island, and there are some ships ready for bombardment on the Western side of the German mainland.
Pardon the lack of pictures. I'm sort of in a hurry, and it took my like three hours just to play the turns.
