Justinian of Byzantium : 3D animated, era specific leaderhead.

Just wondering. Could you do Justinian in flc files instead of ace files? Great job on Napoleon I'm looking forward to your final version.

They are flc files when they've been archived. Unfortunately, the flc files in their natural state are too large to upload :( .

If you visit www.winace.com, you'll be able to download the winace extractor (there's even a Mac version!) :) .

I very strongly prefer .rar or .zip files, but I downloaded WinAce just so I could have this leaderhead.

Great leaderhead. I really hope to have Joan, Cathy, Mao, Cleo, and Theodora all replaced. And maybe Ghandi. It bothers me when he sneak attacks me.

I'd add Alexander to the list. He wasn't even Greek, he was Macedonian and spent his time in the battlefields. As there are no Macedonians in civ (there aren't the phalanx) Alexander should be a great leader. Pericles is the best Greek leader

A)it can be argued thatthe Maceodnians themselves were greek, the lower greeks were just looking for further mean to dictint themselves from the res tof world, so they could class themselves as "Superior"

B)the "phalanx" is a Formation of troops; the individual trooper is a phalangite (no big deal really, just somthing that should be more well known)

C)the phalangites style or armour and weaponry was perfected by the Athenian general Ifrikites during th epeolponesian war, but ti never became a popular style in Athens for anything other then its marines; the Tactics of Alexanders phalanx were perfected by the Thebans; the Macedonains only big move was combineing the two, which was needed regradless as traditional armour would have been to expensive to feild even an army the size of Alexanders...

That said, it was laso Alexander who came closest to ruleing a united Greece; few greek states were left free of the enforced "League of Corinth" which Phillip II of macedon imposed on most greek states

yeah, btu there is really no one else to represent a "Unfied" greece that is even remotlly well known accept for Agamemnon of Mycenae, and thats rather absurd (but then, hector of troy is counted amougn the great kleaders, so there you go...)... the bes tleader sof Greece all occure at when greece was most divided...

I think the Greek civ is meant to include the Achaeans, Phrygians, Lydians, Ionians, Thracians, Macedonians, etc, all under one umbrella. In a game as global as Civ, you can't really afford to make such distinctions.

Hey R8xFT so where did you get your idea from anyway of making Justinian I Of the Byzantine?

I didn't get the idea from you, Roman Legion. Why are you so angry about it anyway? This leaderhead was originally done in May, with previews on this forum at the time, as part of a planned (but not executed) "R8XFT mod." Xen had asked for a Justinian leaderhead around then. I've recently got round to resizing the head and uploading it. Your leaderhead was posted in July, weeks after I originally posted mine.

Edit : I've now found the thread, which hasn't been posted in since June 30th: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=86994

Well your justinian dosent work! and my leader has been done since febuary i just diddnt know how to add attachments until recently. I have a new update to my Justinian it wont be avalible until i get my other computers internet running again. the update are-it is centered and its backrounds change different era. And R8XFT one more thing your Justinian dosent even look right. Ill post a Preview Sometime this week.

Opinions vary, Roman Legion. The truth is that in terms of contemporary images, there's only a mosaic to go from. I put my version of Justinian up on the Creation & Customization forum so that people could suggest improvements, which they did. Xen, our resident Byzantine historian, likes it. If you don't like it, that's up to you; all I'm doing is sharing leaderheads I create for myself with this community for people to either use or disregard.
I look forward to seeing your era-specific Justinian :) .

In answer to the objection that there should only be one Justinian I need to say that replacing Theodora is not an original idea. Justinian is the logical choice as the Byzantine leader (the only reason they put Theodora in is beacause She's female). By the way I do like this Justinian better than the Mosaic (sorry Roman Legion)
