For the record 1.22 standalone just released still won't load 1.20 files so unless Firaxis releases a patch that will load 1.20 saves whe'll have to stay on 1.20.
The readme says 1.22 should load 1.20 savs but it doesn't, you get errors instead.
For those of you understandably who want to play 1.22 single player just be sure to do a dual install.

I sincerely hope that we can get things going now. If I do not receive the game by noonish on Friday the 8th, then I won't be able to send it on until late Sunday night. Hope you guys have a good Easter!

Who was he supposed to send it too? Me? If so, I never got it, and didn't know to contact him about it because he never posted.
As to this cheat program, is it true? I couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic or what... Is that really true?

It was complete sarcasm. And if anybody who is following that thread can't figure that out, well, don't know what to say about that. I doubt there is any cheat programs out there that will allow you to do what JShelR is crying about. And if there was, I certainly wouldn't use it. And if I did, I certainly wouldn't be bragging about it.
As for my reliablity being questioned, whatever. I guess whenever you make a joke and someone doesn't "get it" because they haven't been following the thread, they question your integrity. I guess somehow that translates into holding up a game, but I can't figure out how. I have never been accused of holding up a game so I guess there is a first time for everything. I will resend the game because apparently Warlord Sam never got it.
And Tweedledee, I can't believe you didn't think that was a sarcastic remark. And I wonder if you think I cheated, eh? I guess I could mention how I don't think it's possible you got more techs than me in the archipalegeo game other than you must have cheated. But that would make me sound like a whiny little b!tch now wouldn't it? I couldn't possibly fathom you meeting an AI civ and trading techs. Or you couldn't possibly meet the other human player in that game and trade techs with him. So I guess you must have cheated. Well, instead of accusing you of somehow using the WELL KNOWN "tech cheat", I know you traded with others and that's how you got ahead. You see, the first time someone, such as JShelR, doesn't understand the game he cries "CHEAT!" How many messages are in all these forums that start out saying "found a bug". And them everybody flocks to that message saying "IT'S A BUG, IT'S A CHEAT!, CALL FIRAXIS NOW." Only to have someone say it's not a bug and this is why something happened. Everybody says "ahh, it's not a bug, it's not a cheat." And then four hours later you see another post looking very similar. I swear, people who don't understand the game should either learn how to play it, or stop whining if they can't figure out how to play it.
I have never attacked anyone personally on this board. It's all been directed at the character in game. However, I'm willing to make an exception this time. Shame on you, Tweedledee, superslug, and JShelR.

1) Don't target Tweed and JShelR. JShelR hasn't posted in this thread, and Tweed wasn't the one that linked to your post. I posted the link, if you have a problem, deal with me. Whether or not this is a bone to pick I leave to you.
2) Sarcasm, eh? Now that the server has let me read that thread entirely, I'm inclined to agree and I consider that matter closed.
3) I never would have gone looking for your post activity if you had posted within 24 hours saying you sent the game like your supposed to! Since you've now updated this thread with your activity, I consider that matter closed for the moment unless you ever let us down again...

First off, I'm sorry for not getting the sarcasm. I didn't have the interest vested in the subject to delve deeper than the linked page. Secondly, I do think that you're coming across as sorta harsh and maybe unreasonable.
BUT, I do whole-heartedly believe that you're incredibly pissed because you've been wrongfully accused of cheating. I know that I, myself, would be very unreasonable and very offensive/harsh to just about anyone, in that given situation. I propose that when you cool down, you reread the posts that were made in our PBEM thread, and if you feel like apologizing about anything, then you can.
I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt, because I know that even the best people can have a bad mood or bad day, and I also feel like you've quite possibly been wronged. Additionally, I think that forums are notoriously horrible for misunderstandings....
Within all of that, you can start sending the .sav files to suntoumari at hotmail dot com instead of the posted address, because I'm having horrible problems with receiving emails there.

Yes Dogboys post was fairly obvious sarcasm if you read the preceeding posts. Ussually I refrain from posting sarcasm, its far to volatile and likely to be misinterepreted on the Internet.
It does raise some concerns though imagine if someone did make a civ3 hack? Generally such cheaters lack the patience for a game like Civ.

I would prefer it if you could post everytime you play a turn Dogboy, it is in the rules page 1 that everyone agreed to before starting this game. Rocinante lets you get away with it in his game but thats only 4 players when you have 8 its far more important to track the turn movement. Personally I have this forum thread bookmarked so while I wait for hotmail to upload the save I type a quick "sent to ____" message.

I promise, from now on, I am going to reply to file senders saying "got it". I do try to post here after playing but I have missed a few and so can't get on anyone's case about the occasional miss but it shouldn't be a regular habit to not post here. Having a lot of games going is not an excuse.
Being nice is good, but is not a prerequisite for playing Civ3 so if anyone rubs anyone else the wrong way--just ignore them, remember, for some players getting their opponent riled up is a tactic to get them to make a mistaek.

I received the file this time, but there seems to be a problem. Its asking for Superslugger's password. So I'm guessing you sent me the wrong file, somehow, or something.
I think what I got is the file that was sent to you, this turn.

PS: It just occurred to me that Superslugger is the guy I'm supposed to send it to... so I think that I may have the file after all, double checking... er, this is embarrassing...
PPS: Played and sent, I think I clicked "no" when it asked if I wanted to replace the .sav file, and I am quite flustered due to packing, fixing dinner, and a few other things going on. Check with the sender if they're ok with this personally I find it more annoying. Means more emails to delete.
