I would like to apoligize in advance for the above request. The search is not working and I have gone thru the first 6 pages of questions and cannot find the answer. I have Conquest CIV3 ver. 1.00 (uninstalled 1.12 becoz of the various problems). However I cannot seem to automate my workers to clean up pollution. When I press Shift-D, I get the "Pick a civilization" box pop up. Now I have to manually move the workers to each pollution site and press Shift-C. Am I doing something wrong or has the automation in Conquest changed. Help

You have to have a worker active, I believe. . . I do know in 1.12 if you try to do diplomacy when you have a worker active it will Auto-Clean the damage. Don't recall what it does in 1.0. Have you tried using the action button for it?

I have a worker active when I select the shift-D and the doplomacy screen pops up. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by action button. The manual clean up works (which is shift C). But I have a lot of pollution and it is a pain to go thru each pollution site and press shift C. Is shift-D supposed to work or has it changed to something else?

Shift-d has historically been the Diplomacy screen. When C3C introduced damage to terrain from bombardment and volcanos, they changed the command to 'Clear Damage'. So I do know in 1.12 that when you have a worker active, Shift-D is clear damage. I played 1.00 for about 2 hours, not long enough to get to pollution, before I patched to 1.12.

Now, to get the advanced worker buttons, go to preferences. Either on the main screen, or Ctrl-P (I believe it is) in-game. Find the option marked "Show advanced worker buttons". This will give all the advanced commands, such as Colony-To, Road-To, Railroad-To, Clear Damage, Build Trade Network, Automate-This City Only, Automate - Leave existing improvements, Automate, This city only leave existing improvements, go-to city. One of these is Clear All Damage. Or something to that effect. Hovering over each button will tell you what it does.

Thank you thank you thank you, the advanced buttons worked. I can automate the worker to clean the pollution, (surprisingly it is shift-D), however it does not work with the keyboard. The advanced options do work.

This will(is) fixed in the next patch. It does kind of bug me, because I tend to use the mouse for worker actions, and keyboard for diplomacy. So when I do hit shift-d, trying to get the diplo screen, and I'm on a worker. . . took me a while to figure out that's why my keyboard wasn't working. I had thought I did a ctrl-lock or alt-lock or something. . .

You're welcome. . . glad it worked out for you.

Ctrl-Shift-D is now the diplomacy hotkey.

I agree. It's incredibly irritating when you got a few volcanoes in your territory, and you go to conduct diplomacy and then yer workers start fleeing around trying to clear up polloution :( (with no RR's)
