Do u guys ever use your king units(like in the shogun wars) or do they die too easily? how about if there were in armies, would that be safer?

I just use them to explore. Sometimes as Barbkillers. ;)
Once I played mass regicide with this intention. THen one died, and I lost! [pissed]

In sengoku you ca't upgrade your Diamyo anymore and the movement of the army is the movement of the slowest + 1. But if you put him into an army when fully upgraded, with 2 Arq-sams you can attack multiple times, be defended by the 2 arqs and you can still enslave. That's anough for me to put him into an army.

I don't think thats enough. He loses all the other fun things. I would never put my shogun in an army. Especially because that he will lose the all terrain as roads ability. In the early game the shougen is perfect for barbkilling and later he is invaluable in your attacking forces.

I think you also lose stealth and the ability to choose your target (pick a unit to attack within a stack) when you put him in a army.

Stealth attack is the same as the ability to choose which in a stack. and you're right you will also lose that

What about putting a fully-upgraded shogun into an army all alone?

i think it would still have its abilities. I just personally wouldn't do it because he wouldn't be able to generate the last MGL(unless you want to wait for that) and most importantly I have many other better uses for an army. But the idea should work well and if you have an army you don't know what to do with...
