KK06b - The (second) Special One

Yep, gold city.

Possible site of Colossus and Great Lighthouse too.

Hopefully we get lucky and put a holy city there, as well as corporations like Sid's and Civ Jewelers.

Gold City sounds good. Lets get the place up and running as those gold mines will support us in the early game.

Forgot to mention, there's no copper near us. Actually if I remember right, there's no copper visible at all. We'll need IW or atleast archery. Great wall would help with barbs but we have to watch out for AI too.

Generally I find that if there is no copper near you there will be iron. We could sit back and wait for iron-working but it is a big risk.

Looks like I'm up, will probably play tomorrow. We don't have a dot map, can someone get one together before I play, we've got time. Any other plans, I really think we should go towards IW. We'll need to know early if we'll need to conquer some.

glenmetz, what you can do is suggest what you plan to do and you may get a response that way. You should play soon or else the game will completely dissapear from everyone's thoughts.

Alright, will tech towards IW (once Writing is in) to see if we have any around.

Paris-Finish worker->The Great Wall, maybe get a Settler in there
Orleans-Finish Warrior->Library (once writing is in)

Next city site to either the West or South, but don't think I'll get a Settler out with The Great Wall being built.

Will play tomorrow, any other ideas?

JUST CHECKED-----

The save is not available for download. Looks like it was whacked in the hack.

SEALOT-Do you have the save still?

Played 21 turns, seemed like a good spot to stop. The Great Wall is in and a new settler is ready to go. Heres the run down:

Preturn
Notice that Slavery isn't in, will wait 2 turns until the Worker is complete in Paris and will revolt

Turn 82-1950BC
Paris finishes the worker, starts work on The Great Wall
I revolt to Slavery

Turn 85-1875BC
Writing In Tech->Iron Working (25 turns, yuck)
Orleans completes a Warrior, starts work on a Library

Turn 86-1850BC
Joao comes offering Open Borders and I accept, hopefully he'll spread Buddhism to us and we'll have an early ally

Turn 87-1825BC
We Meet Saladin, he founded Hinduism and is off to our SE
Saladin.jpg

First gold is online, Orleans can start working it and drops IW down to 16 turns

Turn 90-1750BC
Orleans borders pop, and the Orleans worker builds a Farm 1N of the City, will need the extra food to use the other gold hill

Turn 92-1700BC
Saladin offers Open Borders, I accept
Could whip The Great Wall and save 4 turns, but will wait and whip the Settler after The Great Wall is done

Turn 93-1675BC
Found some Copper, kind of out in no mans land, but I found it
FoundCopper.jpg

Turn 96-1600BC
TGW.jpg

Paris starts on a Settler

Turn 98-1550BC

Judaism is FIADL

Turn 100-1500BC
Sury converts to Judaism
There is a barbarian city off to our SW

Turn 101-1475BC
Whip the Settler in Paris
And I'm going to stop here, IW is in next turn as well so it seemed like a good point to turn it over.
Here is the current lands

I think the next city goes to the South. The site will get a Cow and a Silver in the BFC, and will pick up Marble on its 2nd border pop.

Paris (Size 2)-was just whipped, currently working the 2 Cottaged FPs, work on Library next???
Orleans (Size 3)-Working the Wheat, Gold Hill, and a Forested Grass. When the 2nd gold is mined work that and the Farmed GL. I've been switching them back and forth trying to get growth.

Good job, getting the Wall.

You could've played 1 more turn so we can make better dotmap (confirm if iron's there).

Anyway, as for cities, we should probably get the jungle site first to block off Joao (cancel Open Borders if you see a settler coming), then we REX the 2 more cities without fear of barbs. I think we can build peacefully for a while until we can't grow anymore then it's time for WAR. Toku seems like a good target since no one ever likes him. :D

Tech Path, I'd say go for Code of Laws and Currency to help our REX economy, then Construction for warring.

Maybe a city on the tile SE of the proposed north jungle spot. I'd love to work that iron for extra hammers, our lands are poor hammer-wise anyway. That would most likely be a commerce city in the end.

Nicely done glenmetz.

So we've got iron within our cultural borders? Any chance of playing one more turn and then posting the save?
