I haven't gotten around to playing warlords yet. However, I was looking at some of the improvements and that kind of popped out at me. The fin. ability has and will always be a plus. Add that to the free defense promotions and cheap walls and you can turtle while you build up your cities.

On top of that, you get a 10% increase on universities. The only real downside I see to all this is that the UU seems pretty weak and the Protective trait really loses soome of it's steam later on in the game.

Seems to me korea my fit my style of play pretty well in that you can protect your early cities pretty easily with the free promotions and then concentrate on being the tech leader.

I'm playing my first game as Korea and I'm having fun. It's 200 AD, Huge Terra map. I've cornered about 200-250 thousand square kilometers (or is it miles?) and built the Great Wall. Now I just sit back and relax until I discover astronomy and the subjugation of the New World begins. Although I might also need to pick a couple fights with some of my neighbors since they chose some really nice city spots on my borders...

As for their UU I liked it in regards to my destruction of Napoleon to my south... His first city was loaded with Swordsmen and Axemen. My Hwacha walked over them with few problems because of their +50% vs. melee bonus. As for a Swordsman war you'd be hard pressed against a first strike promoted Hwacha... Your stack would definitely feel the pain and your Hwacha would almost definitely win.

Not to mention financial is just awesome :)

Financial is decent, but Protective is probably my least favourite trait in the whole game. UU is decent, UB it decent but too late.
