Korean-English Language Patch

I'm trying to play Civilization 5 in a PC room (like an internet cafe) in Korea. The game itself is in Korean, but my command of the language isn't good enough to play like that. The owner seems happy enough to let me change the language from Korean to English, but he has no idea how to go about doing it. A lot of the suggestions I can find online say to change the language through Steam, but I don't think they installed it this way as I can't find the Steam client on the PC. In another PC room, the guy changed it very quickly using some kind of patch- it wasn't perfect, but it was close. Does anybody have any idea what he might have used, or have any other ideas how to go about changing the in-game language?

Welcome to CFC :).

The game should definitely be installed with Steam, because there's no other method (Steam HAS to be in). Therefore, the patches should also be installed (because it's automatically patched), but since there's no korean only version (korean was patched in afterwards) this shouldn't matter.
There should be an option in the Civ5 menus themselves to chagne the language. Are you able to navigate so far, or do you not speak any korean at all?

Thanks for the welcome :).

After some trial and error, I found the two options in the in-game menu to change the language. There's one for speech and one for written language, however they're both set to English, when the game clearly isn't. I've tried looking at the config.ini file, but that also shows it's set to English. Maybe the owner can change it to English through Steam from the main computer. I'm not there now, will ask the next time. At the bottom of the main menu screen, it says (something like) Korean Language Version 1.0.0.17- is this the same version number anyone else uses, or is this specific to Korea?

1.0.0.17 is not the latest version, the game should be more patched. Maybe the internet cafe is blocking that part of the connection :dunno: (or it's different in Korea, but i doubt it).

Oh no, again that problem. We're not sure what causes this, but changing the language in Steam might help.
