Welcome to my second hosted SG!

The first one can be found here. While it turned out as a win, it partly failed to achieve the goal of bullying as our too-nice neighbors wouldn't declare war on us.

Below is spoilered opening discussion material.
Spoiler :
I would like a 7 players roster including myself, so there are currently 6 spots open. Priority is given to the previous SG members if they are willing to join. Otherwise anyone that can tackle Monarch/Emperor shouldn't have too much of a rough ride.

Things to decide: (please vote)
1 - Map type: a) Either Pangea, b) Team_Battleground, or c) anything that requires boats to meet everyone.
2 - Game settings: a) Always war 1v2+2+2, b) Always war 1v1+1+1, c) Always war 2v2+2+2 or d) forced war/peace,
3 - Aggressive AI or not?
4 - Our leader (you can suggest more than one leader)
5 - If you selected 2c: AI helper leader
6 - If you selected 2d: We choose every AI on the map - every player gets to pick one.

Explanations:
Forced war/peace (I go in WB and make 3 AIs at war with everybody, everyone else it at Peace but not on a team). I'll randomly select who fights who but it will be arranged as there is no group with the same enemies.

For example: 1 has 2,3,4 as opponent, then 5 will not have 2,3,4 as opponents - at least 1 must be different. This is to complicate trade options :) After all, someone might get lucky and be hidden behind two friendly neighbors ;)

The starting save

Roster
1. kossin
2. mfie
3. Stochastic
4. mjg5591
5. cripp7
6. Meerk
7. The Simple Mind

We'll give players 48 hours to pick up the save. Another 48 to play it although extra time can be granted if requested. These times aren't extra-strict as some discussion may be required before going on forward. Your input is much coveted!

Rules:
1. There are no rules!

As for turnset lengths, I'm thinking 20 for the first few sets and then either 15 or 10, although the player may decide to play a few turns more (to complete a tech, etc.) or less (if input is needed, etc.).

The start is to be generated once settings are agreed upon.

Remember, we're here for fun! Fun starts with participation. The more input we get, the more fun!

Not a sign-up, but what's forced war do? Does that mean once you declare war you can never take peace again? Or is it the same as AW?

I would like to join.
How does forced war peace work? I've selected it once and it was exactly the same as a always peace game

Well I'd really like to join up, but I'm only just starting in Monarch so I think I'll have to lurk with intent.

For what it's worth I'll vote too!
Spoiler :

1: a). While I like naval war, I think Pangea is probably better for all out war so that you can pick your targets and get started soon without concern for silly logistics like galleys. (Perhaps some bias here, my (semi isolated start) Monarch game has just involved me having to use them to invade an island chain which I found most frustrating:crazyeye:)

2: d). It sounds like it will produce more complicated diplomacy and I'm all for convolution!

3: I'd say yes. This is about war right?

4: One of the Mongols? Keshikes on Pangea might seem a bit the top though. Suleiman is fun too.

6: I don't know, maybe Hannibal? I think he's best on water maps, but still pretty good on the land.

Forced war/peace makes it so you can never declare war on a peace party (like always peace) and never contact a war party (like always war). It's like the best of both worlds in a way.

Unfortunately it is all set to forced peace by default so it has to be managed via Worldbuilder.

@mfie, Stochastic, if a spot is free you'll be on the roster. I prefer participating players rather than ones that are "better" and don't post, as do most SG participants.

kossin - I can set the game up for you. I just don't have the time to play in 3 SG's at once, since I anticipate SGOTM starting in January.

shyuhe - that would be great, this way I don't get accidental map knowledge. As soon as the setting are decided, I'll contact you. Thanks

I'm in Kossin if there is room.

1.Pangea works for me. I hardly ever play pangea.

2.Not to familiar with any of those. So I'll just leave blank.

3.Aggresive AI turned on, why not.

4.Toku as I never play as him. Would be good for mid game wars with Samarai's. Or maybe Churchill for Protective redcoats.

5.N/A

6.N/A

I am in if there is room.

1 a or b
2. d.
3. aggressive AI
4. Any
5. N/A
6. HC

I'd like to join if you'll have me. I'm a monarch level player who normally plays epic speed. Would be interesting step up a level and move to normal speed. My choices would be:

1. Team battleground - never tried before so might as well give it a go.
2. D - it be good to have some civs that we can trade with.
3. Not.
4. Gilgamesh - good early UB and UU.
5. n/a
6. WvO

I've actually changed my mind and no priority is given to KoS1 players. OTOH, they will get a priority should we wish to add a member for whatever reason. And I can always start KoS3 if there's more requests :)

So the roster is:

1. kossin
2. mfie
3. Stochastic
4. mjg5591
5. cripp7
6. Meerk
7. The Simple Mind

Votes so far:

1. Pangea wins
2. D wins - 3 forced war / 3 peace
3. 3 for 3 against AGG AI - awaiting mfie's vote
4. Peter, SB, KK, GK, Suleiman, Toku, Gilgamesh
5. Discarded as 2d) won out.
6. I think we should leave these to be picked by Shyuhe since I won't be doing the map manipulation

To re-cap

Aggressive AI or not: we need mfie's vote

Our leader:
As there are 6 proposed leaders, I suggest a 2-vote variant, 2pts for your favored leader and 1pt for your second favored leader
Please vote between the following:
Gilgamesh
Peter
Sitting Bull
Mongols (pick KK or GK in case this one wins)
Suleiman
Tokugawa

My leader picks:

Peter 2pts
Tokugawa 1pt

Red for blood!

Reasons for not voting others:
Gilgamesh - too strong early game if we get copper
Sitting Bull - Already picked a Phi leader. Hesitated between him and Peter but decided for a less assured start!
Mongols - not feeling the Keshik rush since we can't barter with the war AIs
Suleiman - Another Phi leader although Imperialistic for GGs could be quite good

Should have been Brennus.

All Mongol!
GK 2 pt
KK 1 pt

(Although really I am happy with any.)

First off, thanks for taking me on! I'll probably need some help as a newb Monarch, but hopefully everyone else can pull that off:)

Red for blood!

 That just about sold me  Toku for half a point.

But, in my ignorance, I vote for Gilgamesh 2pts and Kublai 1pt.

My thought is that rumor tells me creative becomes much more important at higher levels, so I went for that first. Then wasn't really sure which would be better, but thought that the vulture is more in line with the general tech path than the Keshiks and I tend to build courthouses in almost every city, but ger's seem more specialised.
