So, a few months ago, some people might remember that I wanted to be able to run Civ2 with multiple languages. I got a good answer, but the conversion from French civ to English civ did not work 100% properly, as some pieces of text were still showing up in French (something like: Royaume des Germans) By then, I was baffled at what caused this.
But now, I think I have found what I needed. I was browsing the .txt files in my English Classic Civ2 folder when I happened upon labels.txt Opening it revealed a long string of @LABELS entries... which were in French: I did not have an English version of this file, neither in my original MGE folder nor in the 2.42 patch hosted here at CFC.
I then made a quick test by switching some words in the file to English, and then doing the steps needed to make the just-changed words pop-up in their corresponding window, and it came out good: ''prendre'' was showing up as ''take'' in the window telling the user that they had just taken an enemy city.
But of course, changing every single word to English would require a lot of time: time that I simply do not have. So I'm making a request: does anyone here can upload their English version of labels.txt so I can copypaste the needed contents in my own file, and thus hopefully complete my conversion? Thank you!
