Laptop HP nc6000 can't see intro or first menu

Hello,

After a successful installation, the game starts up fine, sound is fine, intro movie is a blue screen. Pressing esc or enter I get to the main screen with the title/earth behind it. The sun comes up fine. Sound is find. The pointer for the mouse is fine. What is missing is the menu.

Latest video drivers from HP site. ATI does not support this built in 9600.

Anyone have a solution for this sad problem?

***FIXED***

for my Laptop, HP NC6000 with ATI 9600 Mobile version. ATI tells me to use ONLY HP drivers which are old.

Installing things fixed the missing intro/menu.
