Large game crashes.

I've finally gotten around to messing around with the world builder. I tried deleting the Khadi but the crash still happens. I tried stopping a Chosen of Esus ritual but I'm not sure how, short of deleting a Sidar city, which I will try next. I've noticed that the crash always occurs during a certain sound effect but I have no idea what the sound effect represents. It's hard to describe in words but it's a single tone followed by some whispy sounds, then the game crashes.

Those might be the barbs sound, do you see a Huge eagle, a giant spider or giant lizards? Try deleting them. There are few other that cast spells like the elks and wild men.
 
I guess it was the Chosen of Esus ritual after all. I tried removing the COE religion from the city in WB but that didn't work so I deleted the city and, sure enough, the game was able to continue. The same sound effects still occured so I guess that had nothing to do with it. (I wish all the sound effects during turn changes could be removed as well. It's just a noisy mess right now, and you can't even link them to their event anyway)

It looks like you may be right about rituals Mufus. I certainly would not mind seeing Chosen of Esus removed. A few others could go as well as far as I'm concerned. They are definately not worth sacrificing stability. If other people are experiencing issues with rituals, I hope Valkrionn would consider getting rid of them or making a change.
 
Rituals will be changed drastically in 1.4, so hopefully any crashes would be worked out.

However, I get no crashes from any of the rituals now, so honestly I think it is still an aspect of available memory, not a crash that can be fixed.

I didn't seem to be having many issue otherwise. Do you think my game was just too big? I've got 6 gig of memory.

Hopefully it will be fixed in 1.4. Oh wait, what version are we on now? Is 1.4 still a long way off?

It's generally an issue of memory becoming fragmented, not simply from not having enough.

We are currently on 1.23, working on 1.3. 1.4 won't be far off though, our patches are becoming more focused.
 
If i choose not to scout and a player that i have not been introduced to yet is defeated i crash. I say Mallha or who ever was defeated. then the music and i click the ok and the picture never disappears it locks my whole screen up.
 
yah i dont get it. if i try and load from that point it crashes at that same spot. the lady picture pops up and i cant get past that scene. what i did to fix it was go i went back on one of the auto saves bought a map found out where she was, got a ship there met her and it didnt not crash when she was defeated. --I think it has to do something with my game selection. I have it on. you have to kill all there troops not just the city. I think i will disable that next game.

It maybe something unrelated Jojobe since one or two civs tend to die off right away in my games without me meeting them. No crash, but then as soon as I see the messaged I go straight to WB and put them back in again (though better spot with extra units).
