Hello

I thought I'd report this bug as it is easily reproduced - in fact, all you need to do is load the save and click Next Turn - the game will process for a few seconds then all the animations freeze, and finally Windows reports "Civ 5 has stopped responding".

This is a Gods and Kings game.

I wondered if it was related to http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=403912 but I'm not convinced (yes it's a 'late game crash' but that could be anything!)

Sadly after playing for over 1100 turns and enjoying the game (have played Civ since 1991 and think this is a worthy addition - although any Civ with improved AI would be better IMO!) I'm loathe to start a new game over :(

My system: 8GB 64-bit Windows 7 4-core i7

I've tried re-loading the file 3 times and every time it crashes - if anyone has any joy with this (by changing settings etc) then let me know as it would be great to finish the game!

Confirming that I also get a ctd with the save file, even if all video options are set as low as possible. My system is similar to the OP's and is generally stable (i.e., doesn't usually crash except when testing other players' problems).

I get the -exact- same error on my own game. I was about 550 turns in, year 1941 or so.

And as soon as I hit 'Next turn', it crashes.

And just when I was starting to like G+K... *sigh*

Here's my crash report:

I just tested it with and without another player in-game. It crashes regardless. I was checking the amount of memory used actively, it never went over 1.2GB of RAM (I've seen games take way more)

It actually went down to 990MB of RAM before crashing (it crashed 5 seconds after pressing 'next turn')

I'm at a loss for how to fix this. I figured it might've been memory overload issues, but most programs (especially 64bit) tend to be able to take advantage of 2GB or more.

Any ideas on this?

You can try lowering your video options and verifying the integrity of your game cache (in Steam). Are you running G&K or vanilla? Any mods? If possible, attach a copy of a save file from immediately before the game crashes. If EA is reading this thread, a save file might help them to isolate the cause of the crash.

Still crashes. Played much further than anytime lately, but now it just freezes. I'm swapping to ARMA till this gets settled.
