Late Game Villages (huts)

Can't say I popped astronomy before. Got music twice though.

Problem is that often the huts are guarded and the explorers can't attack. Then when kngihts or maces go kill the barbs, I pop angry warriors  Free exp but I was hoping for a tech.

Barb cities can pop up in the fog anyhow. I've also seen a guarded hut and a barb city next to each other so I doubt that you can say definitively that a hut grows into a barb city.

:bump:
Anyone tried this yet? I got no time...

Another interesting setup is putting yourself in a team with raging barbs.. (it is possible.. you have to make a worldbuilder save, and then edit it in a text editor to set the player to play in team 18)

Barb cities form in the fog too. I do not think that they only form from villages with barb guards. In fact, I have seen developed barb cities with a barb hut and a guard in their cultural control, so I'm inclined to say this is a rumor.
it's true, dude. it's not the only way they can form, but i've seen a hut that was on a small island on a route i ran alot of troops by, and after a while it had a guard, then it became a city. i didn't see the transformation, it just changed as it entered my line of sight.

Because I've seen it happen. ;)

Try it yourself...next time you see a guarded hut, leave it in the fog for a few turns. Eventually, a barb city will appear.
Has anyone else seen this happen? I never have, even on distant islands that I'm confident aren't being visited by other civ.

How long does it need to be in the fog to turn into a city?
