So I usually hate to advertise but I just love this place www.launch.yahoo.com

It's a great site for any music fan and any music fan deserves to know of it's existence. The best part about it is the rating system. For example I have my own radio station http://launch.yahoo.com/launchcast/station.asp?u=1228295924

I start out by telling the site what genres I like, like Classic Rock, Electronica etc... Then it will play the genres I choose, then I can rate the artist, song and album that is played, if I give a good rating it will play more of that artist, song and album and it will also play music similar to that artist. I've been rating for a while now and I LOVE my station. It's the first radio station that plays all the music I like!

Anyhoo I recommend trying it, also the music videos are great if you have a broadband connection.

I have used this too, it is amazing, and they have a huge selection of music. Also, it lets me look into new bands, if you rate certain genres and such, so in addition to the bands I love already, I can hear similar and new bands. Advertisements are there, but fairly infrequent, and they are at most 30 seconds.

I remember back when Launch started. It was just a magazine that came with a CD, including all sorts of computer stuff and one track per month that could be played on a CD player. IIRC, you had to put it on track 2 to hear the music.

Yes, great site that I visit often. I actually haven't created a radiostation; I just manually click videos that I want to watch at the time. Maybe I should start rating, though.

I used to listen a lot at work but my collegues don't share the same musical taste...
