Launcher not working

Hey,

So I have downloaded the new patch (21st of May) not real sure how to check what version it is. Basically whenever I try to start civ 6 application the launcher fails (See screenshot).

Have tried launching from desktop shortcut, steam library and using a beta code to get legacy access (or something that apparently works for civ 5 when the launcher fails). I have verified the integrity of my game files too.

I also have the same problem... launching either from the steam library or from the desktop shortcut gives the same message
