Another problem I ran into: Put a worker on a spot (Say a mountain) and tell him to build something (mine) he will start his digging, but on the next turn he will be green (ready for orders) and not doing anything. Any ideas?

I do have an immobile enemy next to the tile, is that what may be preventing the worker?

Probably, yes. All workers are set to, when automated and unguarded, break automation when enemies are near.

It's the MPL-Module! ;)
I know it, since I had exactly the same problem a while ago.

...or I guess it could be that. :p

I wonder where I got my bit from, then - I was sure that made it's way in.

No, you're also correct. The immobile skeleton from that one event - which I suspect is what's being discussed - will break automation every turn, as will any other visible enemies.
