Hello

I have some trouble with the leaders. How to make them finish a wonder ?

I know that i have to take the leader to the city in question, but how to prooceed after that ?

what buttons to push ?

grateful for fast answers

When the leader is in the city, there should be two new order buttons appear on the normal game view (the one where you can pan around over the whole world).

Hover over the buttons, and you'll see that one is labelled "create army", the other "hurry production". The latter will automatically complete anything being made by the city at that moment - so, if you switch your city to building a wonder, it will finish that.

The leader will completely finish the wonder even if it has no shields, so if at all possible you should try to make use of any shields already obtained. I would suggest switching to a building or unit and completing that (maybe wasting a couple of shields, or maybe waiting a few extra turns for the wonder), and then starting, hurrying and completing the wonder all in one turn.

If that doesn't help, just let me know :)

(Disclaimer: Everything I say is for PTW. In this case, it should be the same for Vanilla and Conquests, although I may be wrong...)

Yep, you are right about Vanilla civ and PtW. :) However, in Conquests, leaders can only create armies and hurry improvements.

Scientific Great Leaders can rush wonders now. If you are scientific, you get a 5% chance of getting one (put into your capital city) when you research a tech first. If you are non-scientific, the chance is 2%.

I knew there were scientific leaders added in Conquests, but had no idea how they worked. I was also VERY surprised to read that wonders can't be rushed in C3C, but I can understand why!

Thanks for the info on scientific leaders. I think I did ask that in the Quick Answer forum because I was curious, but I never got an answer as detailed as that!

And eek! I'm even more surprised that military leaders can't rush wonders yet scientific ones can - crazy!

Military leaders can rush SMALL wonders and improvents... but they're mostly used to create armies that are greatly improved in C3C.
Scientific leaders can rush great wonders... but their often very scarse, so you will have to plan your wonder-building more carefully on higher levels... i think this is a good thing, that warmongering are just a little less rewarded compared to the other styles of play... more balanced that way.
Then again you have to fight to get your armies, and it's pretty logical that fighting improves your overall military abilities instead of hurrying lets say a great library.

I like the change to MGL's in Conquests (though I did find out about it the hard way.) In vanilla/PTW, there was always a tough choice to make whether I should 1) build an army -or- 2) Rush a great wonder near the battlefield (that might be fairly worthless there) -or- 3) Spend several turns (during which I can't get another MGL) taking him back to the core cities to rush a wonder. When I combined that with the weakness of armies in vanilla (putting 3-4 units in and only getting 1 attack per turn) I usually chose to rush a wonder with them.

In conquests, my MGL's almost always make an army. About the only exception to this would be building a forbidden palace. It makes it nice to not have to worry about what to use the leader for.

About MGLs: they now get +1 movement added to the slowest unit in a stack (an army of warriors will get 2 movement). Also, armies in C3C can pillage a tile without losing movement cost, adding greatly to their effectiveness, as well as some additional strength they get.
