Lets get some things back from civ 2 and some few more things

Well, i love civ 3 , but they are things that i would love to see in civ 4, well to start, i'd like to see , a theocratic government , then trade freights, also workers should be able to change mountains to hills hills to plains ,and so on, Also i love to see more civs , like Israel,the Austrian Empire, Brazil, The vatican, Canada and Soviet Union(not just Russia). oh also we can build railroads but we don't have trains, should we make trains in order to transport our units and in that way give the game more accuracy.Also we should be able to build bunkers to protec us from nuclear attacks . Also i remember that in civ 2 that when you capture someone elses capital, sometimes there would be civil war and that lead to the creation of another state(but lest say that youcan destabilize the country with sabotage or something like that, that would also lead to civil war) . also some kind of U.N institution should be created, lets say there is a war and you want to stop it but you don't want to conquer the other country, ther should be a way to ask other countries to send troops with you to stop the war, and finally and think that you should be able to give units to another civ, sometimes don't you want to help some other civ from getting destroy but u are too far so you r nor able to help? and even when you give them techs they don't have time to build a good army? well i think that you should be able to give units to other civs, like tanks, planes ships, cavarlry, and artillery, there should also be a kind of world bank from wher you can get money. well please tell me what do you think?

VIVE LE QUÉBEC LIBRE, no Canada here, give us a separate Qc civ.
And give us FP back, plz, now combats give us a lot. FP and QC I ask for. And, ya more civ than 19. But we will see other civ in the expansions. A couple of 50$ more here. (sarcastical)

Can i ask you why Quebec wants to separate and make another country? wouldn't that be Bad for you? Think about Europe and how they are trying to unite. U should try to make CANad Better. I respect your opino tho.

They - some of them actually and not all, if it was a wish of all people who live there they would already be separated - want to separate because they're French.

All separations are consequences of ethnical differences.

Of course, there's a couple of more reasons, but no way anybody would talk about separation if they weren't French.

And Quebec certainly wouldn't have much problems if they became independent, it's an economically very strong region.

Austria would be a good civ that I haven't thought of, but the others are some that there wouldn't be enough demand to have. I agree with the idea of UN Peacekeeping operations, and so do many others. Civil Wars would be nice, but should be an aspect of the game, not just something that happens when the capital is captured

That was also my first reaction, but historicaly the Catholic church has had considerable influence. The Holy Roman empire had great power, even crowning and removing kings and emperors. For all intents and purposes, they ruled Europe for about 1000 years. Not too bad for just being a church.

That having been said, I still have a hard time calling it a civilization; but it might fit into an era specific scenario because of it's political power.

The "terraforming" from civ 2 is awful...way too unrealistic.

Freights: too much micromanagement.

I think the nuclear shelters and world bank are good ideas though.

when i mentioned the vatican, I was talking about the period of time when the church had an enormous amount of power and influence over Europe .Also remember that the church controled lands in Europe.Before Iatly became a country there was a territory called papal states, which consisted of The states in the middle of Italy. I'd like to see the vatican in a Mission, but not really as a Civ. Understand? Like an scenario in the middle of the Separation of the catholic church and protestant church, there were a lot of wars because of that . Or even the crusades were ideas from the Pope to retake the Holy Lands .Thanx for participating, i hope to see more opinions.

1 - theocratic gov - I would add fundamentalism too, stupid that it was removed because of damned political correctness
2 - I don't agree with yu about the freights, but caravans should be put back
3 - Transforming Hills to plains etc. shouldn't be added, except as a future tech
4 - Israel - mmmmmm...nah
- The Austrian Empire - no, it wasn't a nation, but if another european civ is added, then definitely this should be the one, but The Habsburg Empure wuld be a better name
- Brazil - no, it was a colony, not a civilization
- Vatican - no, also wasn't/isn't a nation, it wwould be like adding Prussia
- Canada - same as Brazil, USA is enough
- Soviet Union(not just Russia) - only one of them, not both, and since Russia must be in, then NO

The Holy Roman empire isn't Vatican, although Vatican was a part of it.

The Holy Roman Empire of the German People was the official name of Germany in the early Middle Ages., and later it remained as the name of practically unexisting union of over a hundred small german states.

It existed until Bismarck united Germany in The Second Reich.

What I want to see brought back from Civ 2 are:

1. Terraforming. Yeah, it's not wholly realistic, but this is a game;
and a game isn't that realistic anyway.
2. Supermarkets (double irrigation in the Industrial Era).
3. Ability to acquire technology via conquest.
4. Bring back spy units, with the same missions as in Civ 3.
5. Events (although if they're going to XML files, this may be
happening already).

Fundamentalism wasn't removed out of political correctness.

It was removed for balance. The advantages to Fundmamentalism were way too good to pick any other government. There were practically no disadvantages, when all is said and done.

I think they should bring back fundamentalism, but it should be much more balanced. Then again, I'd probably say the same thing about all the governments, even in Civ 3.

What I liked in Civ2 was that after you changed governments, you could try them out before settling on one. You could compare the income w/communism vs. republic, and decide if the lower income was worth it.

We, the almighty Quebecers (not as dominant as spearmen ) want to seperate because we want Jean Brault for us alone
No, we just want to seperate from Canada because WE ARE THE GODDAMN ONLY FRENCH SPEAKING PROVINCE IN CANADA, AND AMERICA. Ok, their are acadians, and some poeple speak french in Louisianna, but WE ARE 7,000,000!!!!!
btw, I'm not a real separatist, only a simple nationalist, and I think that with our canadian submarines, the canadian federal governement is too patetic.
To talk about this subject, I'll say I want back democracy and republic (i think) making a civil war when a city stays in civil disorder, but it should be less important.
