Disscussion on the demogame has been on and off for the last few months, lets get this up and running again! :)

Let's discuss basic rules and the type of demogame we can have and
let's for the time being keep idea's nice and simple so that everyone can easier follow, we can always fill in the details later!

Things i would like in the next game

1) Less elected offices, based on Black Hole's proposal in this thread
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=257811, I would like to see a small amount of elected offices (three in Black hole's proposal) and have these officals create mini offices to deal with a specific power that the offical has. (Ie governors being created to control various cities on behalf of the domestic minister) this has the benefit of us being able to cut the amount of offices when numbers are low and create more when numbers are high.

2) More control for the Chieftain, ie they can over rule someone below them in a discision.

3) The creation of some sought of a target system. Ie a miltary general could ask for more troops to be built by governors. This proposal would have to go though a citizens vote (or even just let the chieftain deicide) and be forced upon the governors (unless a situation came up, then a governor could be able to suspend the program, with permission from either the chieftain or the citizens)

4) The use of BTS, personally i think BtS will present a much better challenge and more aspects to the demogame. Imagine what we could do with spies and corps, as well as the many improvements to the late game.

5) Maybe we could play a scenrio that BTS provides us with (Rhyes and fall of civilzation comes to mind)

That about as much as i can think of tonight! :)

I posted a Ruleset discussion thread about an hour ago. We should discuss what ruleset to use there.

The lack of leader powers is, as I mentioned a LONG time ago (2 years?), probably the largest reason why we've seen a decline of people wanting leadership roles. I also think that if we go the standard traditional ruleset route then we should allow people to run for as many poistions as them deem necessary (but only accept one).

I have no idea how this would be a "target system," but it would remove to much power from the governors and thus make those poistions useless (and probably unwanted). Also, who says that we even need governors? We haven't exactly decided on a ruleset yet.

4) The use of BTS, personally i think BtS will present a much better challenge and more aspects to the demogame. Imagine what we could do with spies and corps, as well as the many improvements to the late game.

We have pretty much already decided to use Civ4 BTS. Although as I tasked in the "Next Demogame Index/Tasklist" we should probably finalize that once we get active again.

I do realise i have kind of got in the way of your thread

Mind you if we all post in one thread we will just end in a tangled mess as people reply to other idea's while people post their propsed idea.

I have only been here one demogame! Again it's just a obsevration i have made and one i think can't be forgotten this time

A) it's an example
B) It helps keeping us focused on the same path, again it's just an idea.
C) there would be controls, ie it would be under citizen debate so the demands arent too restricting, and it wouldn't mean that you have to build this amount of units, it would be you have to build this amount of units plus any others. Basically in this instant it would help stop the miltary becoming too small (at the start of the last game we were very weak, it took Falcon 02 to build all those units in one turnchat before the France invasion)
