Nope, you don't need Fishing or Sailing. Iirc Eygpt on Eath18, settle 1W of Stone, place a City on Desert hill to NE that links Africa to Asia and Europe. Once Capitol has its full BFC they should gain a trade route thru Nile and coast before you have fishing or Sailing.
