... try it again.
I want to begin a bold, large, immersive game of Civilization, with the systems designed by the community, to compete for the distinction of the greatest civilization to stand the test of time. Giant Multiplayer Robot will help me do it. For those who don't know, multiplayerrobot.com is a site that lets players use hotseat over the wire. Its server takes care of transmitting game saves from user to user, so that you can just click and play, focus on the game.

We'll play with GMR. GMR works. E-mailing is just slower.

Seven slots are open, eight players will play. A tournament to stand the test of Time.

Game options:
* Standard speed, Terra map, full VP, normal planet, ALL victories
* TBD by voting:

- Resources standard, legendary, or scarce
- Standard size (no AIs) or Large size (some AIs)
- Time victory OFF or on

We play to a proof of true supremacy! I've already specified Terra, because it offers the balance of Pangaea with the opportunities of Continents. It's the best!

Total mods list (pending YOUR input):

o Full VP (no eui) last stable version of 2019 version
Use the installer and follow ALL INSTRUCTIONS here.
This will give you:
  • Community Patch
  • Community Balance Patch
  • City-State Diplomacy Mod
  • Civ IV Diplomacy Features
  • Barathor's More Luxuries
  • "Compatibility Mod" for VP no eui
  • Promotion Icons for VP
  • UI - Promotion Tree for VP
o You will also need VP modmod:
  • Enlightenment Era for VP (1.2.2)
o and interface enhancements:
  • I'm good.
  • others...?

Yes, I just copied the format of the other one. Might be that VP is different now. The point is,
Let's Get Some Multiplayer Happening. I'd like to play.

Hello HorseshoeHermit,

I'm just seeing your post and I'd generally be interested in joining this endeavor, as long as the time zone difference won't be too much of an obstacle. I've wanted to play somewhat competitively for a while now so thanks for this opportunity. On a sidenote concerning the mods included, I have never personally played with the Enlightenment Era mod. I mostly agree with your proposed settings, though from from my knowledge many multiplayer games of vanilla civ5 are played on quick speed. No AI sounds good, for resources I'd propose strategic balance. One issue eludes me, which is civ choice: will there be bans or something of the sort, maybe a draft? Or free for all?

Time zones are not an obstacle.

Which words should I use to make clear that the game will be played by hotseat? Is that why it took six months for the first game to (not) get seven participants, do you think?
