One of the things I enjoy the most is getting two or more other civs to fight each other while I watch. I often get great land grabs that way when they wipe out each other's cities and I have Settler waiting nearby.

If my military isn't top notch, this is one way for me to up my advantage. The tricky part is getting them to fight without having to do too much fighting myself. Any ideas on provoking a fight?

You could pick two Civ's that are on a different continent than you. Declare war on one and bring the other in with an alliance. (Maybe you can just get an alliance during peace and it will declare war). Or, if you have a setup where there is a civ between you and another civ, declare war on the far Civ, and bring in the close civ.

In both of these cases, the Civ you declared on should be too busy fighting the other Civ to pay attention to you. If you are going for a land grab though, make sure your new cities are well defended right in the middle of the war zone! (or wait for the war to end)

Yeah, I meant that I like to get out of the war as soon as I can and then watch the other guys fight while I remain neutral.

The trick is to get the other guys embroiled in a war and then get out of it yourself, without suffering a plunge in your reputation.
