With a new community of Mac users we are looking at the options for using Mods. For the time being mods that use dlls are out of the question. Also, some python based mods that have system specific file location assumptions are creating problems (not insurmountable ones, just annoying ones). On the other hand, the graphics-only Blue Marble has already been made available in zip format and installed by many Mac users.

So, abstracting from the problem of mods being tied up in Mac-unfriendly .exe self-extractors, what are some recommended 'simple mods? What are people's favourite 'simple' mods?

(The next step will be to ensure that these mods can be used by Mac users by putting them in .zip format if they aren't already.)

I don't see why most of the graphics mods, unit mods, and new civs/leaders/buildings would not qualify. I don't think any of these have options in ini configuration files and most don't even use python at all.
