Hello i bought this game a while back and have started a couple of games. One of the games I started as the Japaneese and I started out better than any of my other games.

Well i just advanced to the Industrial Ages when China walzted right into my territory with riders and horsemen and declared war! Being the nice peaceful person i am i didnt have many units and I only have Horses for strategic resources none of my cities have been kept for long (because of my high cultural value the city wasnt occupied for long) but I've barley started fighting with them but I was wondering if I could get some help!

The best way to avoid war is to prepare for it. The AI is much less likely to declare war if you have a large military. So check you military advisor every now and then and if your neighbor has a larger military its time to start building some units. Once war has started the best way to get the AI to accept peace is to take a couple of his cities.

If you DO get blindsided like that, the best thing to do is to immediately form alliances with all of your enemies neighbors (make sure you have embassies with those civs first). If you can get one, two, maybe three other civs to declare war on your enemy then you can be pretty sure his attention won't be on you for very long.

also, the AI doesn't seem to recognize quality of units vs. quantity. They will be more likely to declare war on you even if you have a vastly superior, albeit smaller forfce.

Hmmmm...thanks that does help. Another slight problem is that three other Civs are between me and China and ive allied myself with the Germans who are sitting rigth next to them, but the Chineese have allied themselves with the British who sit right next to me and they have never liked me much.

Also Persia and China allied themselves against the Germans now only three other civs on my continent are out of this fight! I hope this doesnt become a World War :tank:
