they are to remind you that you are playing 7Hour 1. What are the bronze/gold colored hexes with "CVII" in the middle that disappear upon exploration? Why are some like this and others just fogged out gray/black hexes? View attachment 718323
Purchase or build a settler in a settlement and then move it to an available hex at least 4 tiles away from an existing settlement. How do you build new cities?
My capital is pop 4 and I dont see Settler as an option yet. Maybe pop 5?Purchase or build a settler in a settlement and then move it to an available hex at least 4 tiles away from an existing settlement.
A button on the unit will become available to let you settle a new town.
The settlement where you build or purchase the settler must be a minimum size (I think it could be population size 3)
You built a settler and settle somewhere. Then you have a town. Later, you can upgrade the town to a city, when you have the money. But do NOT make every town a city, most settlements should remain towns for the gold. Settlers are available from size 5 or 6, don't remember exactly. How do you build new cities?

Thanks!Yes, pop 5
If you have only seen one of their unit, yes, from your Leader screen, the heart tab. (that is, if the question is if you haven't found their village yet)Is there any way to initiate diplomacy if you haven’t found an independent powers city?
Basic yields from difficulty I guess?where does your starting +10 science come from? It's not the palace, and is just listed as "other" as far as I can tell.
Founders Edition Fog of War tiles, I think. Toggleable in the game optionsHour 1. What are the bronze/gold colored hexes with "CVII" in the middle that disappear upon exploration? Why are some like this and others just fogged out gray/black hexes? View attachment 718323
I'm fairly certain this is the case, that you need an expedition in each tile. When you place a population in Civ 7 it's essentially the equivalent of assigning a pop to a tile in previous civ games, except now that pop stays there, and adds an improvement. How do Natural Wonder Yields work?
-I understand tile yields are meaningless unless a district/improvement is added.
-Do you need to add an expedition to each tile or?
I don't think so. I found some ruins and one of the story choices was to locate the original city state, which would show it on the map and initiate contact. I think you must find the city. You get notification for unmet Civ legacy path progress but is this shown in the UI anywhere?

Are you playing with the tutorial on?How do you build new cities?
Not sure what you mean by "expedition", but I settled near the Grand Canyon, and each tile of the wonder was a potential tile for a worker. I added workers to each tile as my population grew. How do Natural Wonder Yields work?

Doesn't seem so. Prepare to look for your scouts only to find them dead, and cities almost destroyed by the time you notice. I know that most people didn't enjoy watching the AI move their units in prior games, but this is ridiculous. Are there no notifications for combat? I left my Burning Arrow unit to heal and i scroll back and hes now almost dead???
No, unfortunately.Anything like map pins in the game?
That is so frustrating, its too much to have to review each unit or just suffer it dying. Also there are no notifications that you discovered a goody hut. They should make these on/off at the players option.I don't think so.
