Little questions & answers thread

There are trade routes in spades. Its a weird map. I have tons of empire resources like gold, spices, silver ect but only a handful of bonus and city resources coupled with 2 Camels in my territory along with more i can trade for.

I'm seeing something similar. I have 6 gold and only one is from trading in antiquity. It's everywhere and as soon as I fill all slots I can trade to a settlement with double camels. Camels in the capitol because I took a chance and moved one east before founding.

My next settlement will get me 2-3 more gold. Is there a cap on the benefit? I know it has diminishing returns.

There is a cap on the Combat strength benefit of resources (6) but I don't think there is a cap on the other Empire level effects.

Another set of questions

What does the Scientific Legend Attribute node (+1 to the adjacencies of standard Gold, Production, and Science Buildings.) actually do?
It obviously affects things like Banks, Laboratories, and Factories
and not
Unique buildings

but what about Military buildings(since they give production)? Bridges (since they are gold buildings), etc.

Since it is worded the same as the Exploration policies does it do the same thing (magnify all the adjacencies)... do those stack additively... ie a Bank gets +3 per adjacency with all enabled

Finally does it apply to non-standard adjacencies on Standard buildings... does my Prussian Stock Exchange get +2 production from a Navigable River instead of +1?

If it specifically says Production Buildings, then I don't believe Military buildings count. There's a tech mastery that adds production to Military Buildings. So whatever the building is labeled as, that's what it is. Some buildings are labeled as two different kinds as well. I would assume they could take advantage of the effects for both building types.

Is that true? If the UB is labeled as a Gold Building, I assumed the UB would also receive the benefits from any effects to Gold Buildings.

Well it says "standard" gold buildings... so I assumed UBs wouldn't be standard

When adding or removing additional AI players in the Advanced Options > Player screen, is there a way to pick whether they spawn in the old or new world?

He means "Homelands" and "Distant Lands"
The first Civs picked at the top of the list spawn in the Homeland, On Standard-sized maps the first 5 are Homeland spawns, the last 3 are Distant Lands. That means if you only pick 8 Civs, only 2 of them will spawn in Distant Lands. Picking only 5 Civs will guarantee a Distant Lands filled only with IPs.

With the new larger maps I have only been playing Pangaea Maps so far, so cannot tell what numbers work the same way for them. I would suspect 6 of 10 in Homeland and the last 4 in Distant Lands, but have not actually experimented to see what is true.

Not sure what key I pushed, but I have a blue background/white text bar at the bottom of my screen.
Seems to be a debug command line of some kind: Move Debug Output

How do I make it go away? Minor annoyance

Try either the Tilde or Apostrophe key.

Is there a way to tell what kind of city state an independent power will become? If it's there, I'm just not seeing it. I'm just curious which ones are scientific, cutlural, etc.

Names are colour-coded I believe, they have a symbol in the banner, and when you click on them here is a huge flag behind the people standing there that depicts their affinity.

On this screenshot you can immediately see the blue and the beaker (science).

On this screenshot I see both a red (Cathness, red = militaristic) and a yellow (Anuradhapura, yellow = economic)

Hi, is there a way for the screen to automatically zoom to + select your next unit to be moved? Currently I need to click a button first and I'm not sure if that is normal?

You can hit the next unit/next turn button on PC which defaults to E.

I'm really curious how your game is set up because mine autoselects the next unit and zooms to it no matter what options I select. Drives me crazy.

Really? Okay, I'm probably doing something wrong in the settings. I'll check it out. Thanks for the info haha

Hi,
silly question, I can't remember the exact meaning of the feather in the icons!
Thanks
Also, for certain items, such as commanders, they can be renamed. The feather quill represents you entering text.

With the Legatus ability that allows them to create new settlements every 3 promotions, do those promotions have to be from the same promotion tree or can they be spread across multiple trees?
