Should we go to 5 turns for a round?
 
Sorry, I did miss it at the bottom of your post. Been a rough week.
5 turns +/- 2 would be fine with me. It would help with the turn around. I thought I had a decent machine (not top draw, but it is 1.7gig) but it takes 1-1.5 hours per turn. I play freecell or read a book while the AI is moving units. It takes a long time to found, capture, or raze a single city. In short yes.

1720AD ** continued **
In SA -- Chalco captured and razed. Leader fishing gets Cosgrove who builds a Solar Plant at Nice Mountains.
(I) Our brave mech infantry defending Geelong by the Nile kills a MA and gets promoted then kills another MA and gets us the GL Menzies :D The people are so happy with us they let me add to our palace. Some good news Aztec now communists. France in anarchy :) If we could only get America to switch.

America lands an invasion force? by Edo 1 pike, 1 longbow and 2 cavalry.

1725AD Spaceship update: better for us thatn last turn.
Egypt 2 built 0 in production -- no change
Aztec 1 built 2 in production -- no change
France 0 built 5 in production
America 6 built 2 -- no change
Renegotiate Fur trade with Iroquois. we are giving him oil for furs now. He does not have rubber so oil does him no good.
Menzies builds a factory. We sink the American invasion fleet and kill the pike and 1 cavalry.
In Europe:
Rheims is captured and razed. Newton's university is gone and Rhiems must have been building a space ship part since france only has 4 in productin now :)
A settler is moved into postion to build a coastal city in France.
In SA:
Tultitlan is captured and razed. Geelong Rubber Works is founded. I think this gives us control of all SA Rubber :)
Also, Chiconaultla, Ixtapaluca, Tepetlaoxtoc & Tlalmanalco are captured and razed.
In MIddle East: Grenoble & Viroconium (both French) captured and razed. JJ's Lake Resort & JJ's River Resort founded from their rubble.

I left a small stack of tanks fortified in northern SA.
Empty Army (in Asia) is still active. There are a few tanks in that town that I just airlifted there this turn.

I think I left a settler sleeping in Africa, I was planning on moving him to Europe then south of Paris to lock in another wine but forgot to do so.

The tank sitting on the Suez is to keep rails open into Africa for us. Our allies like to "park" units in the most inconvenient spots.

Artillery is now split into 3 major stacks. about 30 pieces by JJ's Resorts, 20+ pieces in Africa and the balance in Europe. The SA artillery is in position to shell the remainig egyptian city.

I will check if we have an extra cavalry somewhere to keep the Suez open. Why "waste" a tank? Of course, it will probably take 10 minutes just to review the game :lol:

Glad to see America stuck - well worth $142 / turn.

Foolish France - 5 new parts? I will try to destroy a few more European cities.
 
Thats one of the reasons I wanted to build a city on that spot, besides the fact it would allow our ships to get into the Med without going around. But alas, the Bab city was too close and I missed by one turn. MAybe I should have settled it anyway and taking a chance on the culture pressure.

Lee, investigate moving the capital closer to Asia mainland without losing massive amounts of production in our core cities. Would be nice to see batter product up that way if we can.
 
I do not recall seeing any cavalry on the asian continent. That Suez spot can be reached by Egyptian MA. Our cities in Africa have been attacked every turn by Egypt. Come to think of it, I should have just left a worker there.
 
I assume that after we get Synth fibers we are turning research off. How about going for radar artillery at min research using a scientist? I never was in a game long enough to have radar arty and get to use it.

Egypt talks, but won't even give $250 - they REALLY need to be beat up more.
Babylon - mpp that expires in 4 turns.
Russia ally vs. Egypt expires in 13 turns.
Iroqoius vs. America expires in 17 turns.
No money to be made.


(0) 1725 AD - We will need money to upgrade. I drop sf to 2 turns to get us cash.
Start looking for marines to Dark's Isle, to grab those little Aztec islands.
Wake up the artillery and start bombing Memphis - Egypt is still just to large.
(I) France captures a Siberian city - found a spot :(

I start working on the France SoD in Siberia - The Just Went Elite Tank division is formed.
Whitlam inspires an instant Hydro Plant in Lot of Cows - this city will be powerful soon.
I love the sound of LongBowmen dying - It almost sounds like they are cursing there death.

A little known secret - you can build cities inside the borders of someone you are at war with.
Texpex is razed - we are getting closer in SA.
Zitlatepec (an acme medication?) is razed - SA almost 100% cleared.
Memphis is getting on my nerves - 2 turns of bombardment, and barely dented.

I keep that city! It comes with a nuke plant - since this is a 1/1 city - I sell it for 60 shields - instant temple.
Tin Can alley is formed.
Even more metal is formed - 2 more sources of Aluminum under our control.

We again get smacked on workers - I think it is time to prohibit work by the borders.

Some of the SA cities close to our FP have the potential to be big producers, they just need bigger population. Also, a few of the cities just built in SA could be good producers also.
 
Where did the Zulu get the rubber from? I thought we had it all under our thumbs! Did they take one of the Egyptian sources?
 
The real key is Aluminum. I just snagged 2 sources in Europe.

Rubber only affects ONE space part. There is a hugh amount of rubber in Africa. Egypt, Babylon, and maybe others control that supply.

Samaria (size 1) is captured. We get $113 in gold and destroy a modern armour army in the city. The Persians are happy to see us??? Uruk (size 1) is captured - plus $114.
Buto, Giza, Memphis, Sammara, Tamuian are razed.
During the EXPENSIVE attack on Memphis - I see Egyptian Rocket Artillery!
Cities formed - Egypt was here, African Outpost
Time to expand in Siberia - New Hamburg was captured, alone with multiple workers.
:eek: Egypt has Stealth - they are insulted by giving up a tech. I need to insult more of there cities.
I am sick of 1 city Rome being around - I ally with him vs. France for Theory of Gravity :crazyeye:

Summary - This is the UGLIEST game I have ever played. I have NEVER had to deal with nukes before. :mad:
 
Egypt had rocket arty when I razed Thebes, It self destructed when I captured the city.

Who nuked us? Egypt?
 
At the start of 1740 Eygpt had 5 nukes
At the start of 1745 Eygpt had ZERO nukes.
No question who the guilty party is.
It also occur after I took out 3 cities in the ME, and some in Africa.

It was a RESOURCE DENIAL attack. All attacked cities had rubber or aluminum.
 
That is interesting. Must be a change in 1.29. I have never heard of the AI using nukes first. If it follows true to form, then every AI should declre war on them, and if they have nukes, let them fly.
BTW, this will be the first game I play in that mukes were used. I have never even built one.
[EDIT] Not even in Diety games.
 
Nah, AI used Nuke on us when we were in another SG. I think it was the Germany world map or China world map in which we captured a Zulu city and the next turn Zulu nuke it. :lol:

I will grab the game once Lee is done. ;)
