Check the above out for the progress on starting as the Songhai. Meldor is already helping the testing :)
The faster the test are completed, the sooner we play as the Songhai.
 
Great going, now I will have time to get in the American test. That way we can start the next one sooner. This will be the first one in a long time we have started on the super continent. We shouldn't have the initial problems with trying to get off of our continent like the last two and with the two civs in SA, there won't be that big rush to try and be the first one there.

Well, starting in Africa will probably be harder.

All of South America was a HUGE powerbase.
All of Australia and a ton of islands was a nice powerbase.
Much around us is desert, so a powerbase will probably require a war about time the "Dyina" 5-3-2 knight arrives ;)
 
Ah, another great SG comes to an end. :D

As to the next one, are we using the max number of Civs (24) ? I am currently trying that with a random map of 256x256 and I find that it become quite slow even at 1000AD. Another issue might be the max city as with 24 Civs the limit of 512 is reached very fast. This work both way as most of the not so productive land will not be settled (desert, tundra & jungle) and it will create quite alot of colonies. At the same time I am worried that this might hurt the expansion of the South American Civs as they are surrounded by lots of jungle and that might slow down their expansion. Of course a 24 Civs game is very, very interesting. ;)

If we are using World Map, perhaps we can add Mongol, Vikings, Korean & Ottoman as we have already added Brazil, Argentina, Australia & Songhai and that makes 24 with the original 8 unless we want to go for the max. :D

This one will be 17 civs, as until Argentina they we civs swaps as we emptied out Europe.
Remember:
England became Australia
Japan become Brazil
Rome become Songhai
Argentina = civ #17.
