Load transfer weirdness

Actually, the real problem is that the Windows version of Colonization wasn't designed with "older" versions of Windows (such as 95) in mind. Therefore, it often freezes up or crashes. Try the DOS version instead; the music and graphics aren't as good, but you should have fewer problems. (I have Col too; been a while since I've played it, but I can still remember how.)

Yah, now that you mention that Specialist290, I think I know what you're talking about. My Colonization used to run in DOS, but somehow, it was made to run in Windows when I still had Windows 95. Occasionally, without warning, it would freeze. That problem seems to have been eliminated since I have been using Windows 98.

I have played colonization on both 95 and 98, but I have only been able to "corect" the problem on 98. I see a white box on the screen that has CLOSE and IGNORE in grey boxes, so I press ignore many many times, then rush to save in case the program shuts me down anyway. I havent managed to play on DOS, even though I followed the instructions in the "manuel"...

Hey, I actualy managed to instal colo into dos, and it doesn't freese up on me, but I cannot use my mouse, and so, my boats are standed in Europe... Who knew? Solve one problem and get another...
