Loading a Tutorial

Hey there, new guy here.

I'm getting my dad to learn to play Civ4 by using the in-game tutorial. He played for a while, and then I saved it for him so he could come back to it later. Now, I'm trying to load it, and I'm having some problems.

If I start the game normally, and go to Single Player > Load Game, it successfully loads the game he was working on, but it's not in tutorial mode (with Sid talking and everything). It just looks like a normal game that picked up where my dad's progress in the tutorial left off.

So then I restarted Civ4 into tutorial mode, started a new tutorial, then tried to load it from there in the pause menu. When I do this, a dialog says "The save file you have selected requires the following mod to be loaded: NONE. The application must restart, ok?". So Civ4 restarts, and the save file automatically loads, but I have the same problem that I had when I started Civ4 normally (the correct saved game loads, but the gameplay is normal-looking, instead of being in tutorial mode).

I suppose what I'm looking for is a way to successfully load the save file in tutorial mode, so that my dad can finish learning to play.

unfortunately the tutorial was not produced in a terribly user friendly manner in that saving and loading it seems to be impossible

however one even better way to learn the ropes are walkthroughs, like Sulla's: http://www.garath.net/Sullla/civ4.html
