Loading hangs

3 days ago the game would not load so I took the steps of running DXSetup, D3d11Install and vcredist_x86 as recommended in steamsupport. That fixed it for one day.

Today I had the same problem and ran all the above and it still hangs during loading.

I have been playing this game on the same laptop for going on 3 years and it has worked perfectly until now. I'm using Win 7 Pro.

Has anyone had similar experiences and what can I do to fix it?

It started with many people last weekend, me included.

If you have F-Secure antivirus, it causes the freeze. Turn it off when playing the game and it will work again, I promise.

The problem is not in Steam or the game I think.

Safer way is to exclude Steam folder from virus scan.
