Loading Treasure

In one of my first Colonization games, I got some treasure from one of the goody huts. The big kind of treasure, the one that's its own unit. The king offered to take it back with his ships, but I told him to stuff it since I had the money to buy my own galleon. I purchase a galleon and bring it back to my colonies, but I can't seem to load the treasure onto it, no matter what I've tried. What am I doing wrong?

As I recall you just load it on like any other unit. However it does take up the whole galleon so unload any other goods out first.

Yeah it is tricky, the treasure takes all 6 cargo bays of the galleon! Also remember to put the treasure unit on sentry in the port where the Galleon is so that it gets loaded when the ship sails. Since the treasure is a unit and not goods you can't just drag it into the galleon, it has to board the ship like a colonist does. And it takes the space of 6 colonists!
