I've updated the profile I created when I was playing Civilization IV, that was originally posted to the Logitech Civ IV thread, for use in the new version.

This profile was created for use on my G13 Gameboard and uses the G24 button as a temporary shift key to make it easier to enter the commands on the M2 page.

I left in the Civ4 macros that I haven't managed to check yet (though I changed their names to keep them sorted at the bottom of the list). If you confirm whether any of them work or not in Civ5, I would appreciate it if you could post back to this thread.

What version of the Gaming Software are you using? I'm using v7 on Windows 7 and can't figure out how to import those .lgp files!

I gave up on v7 within an hour of upgrading to it, and went back to the GamePanel (Legacy) version of the profiler software (currently at v3.06.109). The old one may have some UI issues, but at least it has all the functionality you need, unlike the new one. You can get the legacy software from the Logitech support/download area for your hardware (here's the one for my G13 Advanced Gameboard).

There is also a v8 available, but I haven't tried it yet. I'm waiting for some positive reviews of it this time.

A good source of information about the Logitech programmable keyboards and their associated software is the Logitech Users Forum though a recent update in their forum software has produced some problems in finding things lately.

Hmmm... I may be picking up on a trend here! :mischief:

Like cripp7 all of the macro keys appear unassigned. What am I doing wrong? I am using the legacy software with my G11.

It's strange that while I assigned the keys with the appropriate macro, some still don't work within Win 7. ie: I created a Ctrl-Left Click, Alt-Right Click, etc.. for build queues which work great under XP, not working in Win 7. it just brings up the civilopedia with the ctrl-alt-shift mouse clicks.

@techgiz
In the G11 Profiler, click on an unassigned key, select Assign Macro, then select the appropriate macro. Also make sure to check the Edit > Profile Properties and see if the selected executable file is pointing to the correct program.

Because I created the profile for my G13, the key assignments probably won't work for other Logitech keyboards.

For non-G13 owner's, this profile will probably only start you off with the macros, but at least you should have all of the documented (and some of the undocumented) hotkeys already defined as macros. You'll still have to define which key on your keyboard you want to link to which macro.

On those occasions when I've found a G13 profile online for a game I'm playing, I always end up changing the key assignments, because the author didn't know the "best" layout for that particular game (a j/k, since there never is a "best" of these sorts of things, only the layout that works best for each person).

Do you mean that you were able to modify the build queue in Civ5 under WinXP?

BTW, I've found that the macros whose names start with Z01, Z02, and Z04 (since I changed them to follow my naming convention, I can't remember what the functions were now) all work as you would expect them to, within the game.

If you find any other Z## macros that work, please post back to this thread.

Haven't tried Civ5 yet, I'm talking about BTS. In XP I have the build queues working fine, Win7 is a no go with the same set loaded. Don't Know:confused::confused:
