Long load time between turns in later multiplayer games

My girlfriend and I are playing on pretty good computers right now, and our games are smooth as silk up until later on in the multiplayer games (hundreds of turns later - about 500 turns in). I imagine it's either the AI, or the number of units, or the revealed maps or something that causes the long load times in between games. When I mean long load times, I mean roughly ~2minutes wait time in between each turn. When you're dealing with a marathon, multi-hundred turn game like we're doing, it adds up!

Does anyone know how we can diminish these load times?

DXDiag is attached. Please note that due to the (not) wonderful Optimus technology on nVidia's latest laptop cards, you will not be able to see that I have an nVidia Geforce GTX 560M graphics card on my alienware laptop, here.

Maintain less than 50 cities, exterminate all your workers, and garrison all units and exterminate the rest.

Wait until the game is better coded.

Cities are the worst "hog", then workers (especially if automated), and then other units.

Its the AI and CS and the bad coding for their actions. Play MP without AI or faster turns.

Unless you get humans like me, who seem to take longer time than others to make their moves.

Our gaming group has recently tried this with no AI players or City states, just four humans. After 100+ turns the game slows right down, even on standard map size. 5 mins+ waiting for turns with sometimes movement orders issued to units not happening for what seems like ages.
