Longer Game

I think this will nearly always lead to cultural victory. After 1000 years your buildings double their culture. That can be quick with these settings.

Have you played the game already ? If so, what are your findings ?

I think changing some settings in the editor should solve most problems, such as reducing the culture points of buildings and improvements as well as increasing the time it takes to research most things.

Even so, the AI would also have the same settings, so the AI's cultural points would also increase wouldn't they?

Personally, I like longer games, especially once you build up a good civ.

Anyone else try out longer games?

Cheers!

i also like longer games because i like conquest victory. it gives me enough time to kill everyone.

It turned out that you do need to tick the turn limit box and enter the number of turns that the longer game gives you.

You will need to turn off cultural victory

A week before christmas I brought Civ3 Gold edition and I made another one.

Whenever i stack up for a long game i usually only allow the military victories, preventing the AI from getting a spaceship or building the UN is too time consuming. I hate playing a large map and having a computer build the UN as soon as they get that tech. It cuts around 150 turns from the game.
