Longest session of straight Civ3 playing

Lately I've been skyrocketing in my time on playing Civ3 straight. Now that my homework has lacked off slightly I seem to be playing Civ3 much much more.

I was wondering what your longest sessions of straight Civ3 playing were.

One of my longest was 200 years, fro 1754 to 19-something.

Now I usually go 30 years straight (one-year turns) before I save the game and exit.

I played an entire game straight through once, though it was on a small pangea map. Took about 12 hours from 11am-11pm one Sunday with a Conquest victory.

I don't know as far as turns or game time goes, but I've spent far too many Saturdays sitting at the computer for 14 to 16 hours, breaking only for bathroom and the occasional refrigerator raid.

Needless to say, I've invested a lot of weekends and late nights into this infernal, addictive, highly-enjoyable game.

I can't even remember if I have friends anymore...

A man in Korea died after playing an on-line game for 91 hours straight.

That Korean guy didn't take advantage of Modern Time technology!

I hook myself up to an IV and keep a bedpan nearby. This keeps me safe from malnutrition and stops any unnecessary need to walk away from the game!

Seriously though, I've played about 12 hours straight through. Thank god I'm self employed!

So very romantic....there's nothing like helping your heart's desire take over the world.

An all day session (with breaks for walking the dogs) is not at all unusual for me. That's 12hrs plus. After that I have trouble seeing the screen and start doing dumb things like building the Hoover Dam on a 2-city island.

Mijn longest session was getting up at 7 AM and playing until 2 AM the next day. Then sleep for about 5 hours and play again until 2 AM.

Luckily the turns tend to take longer as the game progresses so you have time to eat, watch TV a bit (news) and eat again.

My ass starts to hurt after a few hours, so I rarely get to sit that long.

I play for 8-10 hours straight because I usually only have time to play once a week. I start to headaches from looking at the screen so long. Sometimes I have to slam a few beers so I can extend my gaming time.

Yes there is nothing like Digitally created cartoon characters bashing each other with catapults and battleships on a clear, quiet, moonlight night.. haha

I have played about 16 hours or so probably as my longest period of time.

When I first got Civ 3, I was playing probably 10-12 hours a day for the first week or week and a half. (I play at work for about 6-7 of those hours.)

That's a lot of civ.

And I still can't beat Deity.

The most I can get is around 4-5 hours in 1 sitting. And that's when the wifey's at work! When she's home I'm not allowed to touch the computer...

Like sabo says... killer... we're all REALLY jealous that you have someone to actually understand and share this addiction...

I rarely play for more than 2 or 3 hours. If I would do it, I'd have to sleep in the couch.

I've spent a couple of 16 hour saturdays on Civ 2. I think my record for Civ III is probably a measly 8 hours.

13-14 hours in civ 2...eating 1 time before...no bathroom...

I once had the Friday off from school, woke up at 9AM, played until about 10PM, with about an hour total break for food and bathroom. I did an entire tournament game!

I spend three or four hours straight on the game, then break a hour for online updates and back to the game again. I should take more break more often. ^^

I have had a few marathons in which I played complete games on a standard map in a complete sitting. Those games were not heavily militarized campaigns, however, and took around 10-12 hours. Let's just say that my back was hurting the next several days after those games. I try to take regular breaks now, but sometimes I just can't pull myself away from the game! On a side note, after I've been playing for several hours (5 or more) and I lie down, I feel as if I have a high. I feel kind of drugged up. Does anyone else get that feeling? I know that a lot of us are addicts, so I'll bet that we have similar reactions. I don't know about you, but I'd rather have an addiction to Civ 3 than to put a substance into my body and take a chance on becoming addicted to that. I think that this site should be renamed to Civaddicts.com.
